Wow! Huge mountains right outside the front door. That's a view alright. And you are right - that is one cute cabin. I can see the appeal. There is something comforting and secure sitting around a burning stove, no wonder you sleep so well. I am now off to a corner of my living room, to make myself a cosy fort/tent and pretend I am in an ancient frozen cabin, safe from the roaming polar bears and deadly walrus that stalk around outside!

Hi Cecilia I was elated to see another blog. The cabin is sooo nice & cozy. I used to camp in an old loggers cabin in the Adirondack Mtns years ago and it was similar, shear bliss! So nice Christopher making yummy meal. I think perhaps the reason coal is not used is the pollution concern, plus coal burns hotter so I guess you need a specific grate in the stove. Grim is so cute. Looking forward to more blogs. I learn so much from such happy people. Take care

There’s a show that airs on public tv here called “Alone in the Wilderness “. A man who left the lower 48 states moved to Alaska and documented with his own film equipment how he built his cabin, his furniture, his tools, and lived off the land for almost 40 years. I think if this every time I see your cabin videos. I think you and Christopher would enjoy watching this.

I love coffee ..I love Grim..you two seem very nice.. would not want to stay in that cabin.. I would not want to have to fear even seeing a polar bear from far away... I am a city girl thru-and-thru living in 8 cities here in the USA.. I love the way you have to coax Khristopher to talk...... I hate it when it snows here where I live.. but I do love your adventurous spirits and your wild west gumption....and the artic ocean views.....I was raised by the ocean in Fla..Cheers to safety..health..love..to you 3..

All of my grand parents emigrated from Sweden to America so I grew up in a Swedish community drinking coffee all day long. They referred to it as Swedish gasoline. To be having kaffe, bacon, and eggs close to the north pole on Svalbard in a trappers cabin would be like a dream come true.
