My only problem with this is that living 'off-grid' once used to mean growing at least some of your own food etc (which you can still do in certain developing non-western countries etc) but now living 'off grid' has been re-interpreted to mean living in the wilderness but depending on the wider society to provide your food and other essentials. That's not "off-grid". Dont get me wrong, I admire this man's stamina but off grid living is simply not possible in the UK and many off-grid activities, such as certain types of hunting, that even our more recent ancestors used to do are simply NOT LEGAL IN THE UNITED KINGDOM. I dont know about other countries, but off-grid living simply isn't possible in the U.K. The government largely owns the land, not you, and many off-grid activities are not possible or simply are made illegal by the government - which is not the case with other countries. This is a mis-representation when it is claimed this guy lives off grid, which is impossible in the UK. If you want to truly live off grid in any sense of the term, you need to find some other country to live in.

Im living in the wild in Scotland. Very similar to you i had a serious health scare and i also have heart issues since birth. When you know that you probably won't live long it changes your perspective on life and you don't take your time for granted. I had to live in the wild it was a calling to it and i know the risks and how challenging it is but for me personally it is the only way i can truly live and it keeps my spirit revived. I grew up in Ireland anyways out in the sticks before emmigrating to England. But i always missed living in nature and being connected to that way of life. Had i known the happiness and sense of freedom id get from living in a tent in the wilderness id have done it years ago. I had to lose everything from the world to find myself in the wilderness again. Ill never forget that feeling i got the first time i stepped foot in the Scottish Highlands it was like, finally, im home - where i belong. It's a calling and it's deeply spiritual and freeing. It takes mental strength, determination, and a deep yearing to live the way you feel called to. Nothing could ever bring me back to the material world as i call it. It keeps you fit, strong and brings you into a totally different way of life and perspective. Many are called few are able to do it and few are meant to.... I have the highest respect to you sir! The Scottish spirits are amongst the bravest!

This is very rural Scotland. Hunting /gathering would be very limited. He describes walking 10 miles round trip or 50 miles train , so we can conclude when the video is described as ' off grid ' that probably means , no piped water or sewage, no electricity or phone/Internet.
