Hi Alex! Freediver here. I absolutely applaud you for making the most of the proximity to the loch but you should always try to avoid diving alone. Shallow water blackout can always catch you out and this could be fatal if you don't have a buddy. I'd also double check your weight belt to ensure you're not over weighted - again if you get into trouble you don't want too much weight on your waist. A good way to check is to put the belt on with all the equipment, position yourself upright in the water toes pointing down and completely exhale. If you're properly weighted your mask should just be under the surface of the water. Too heavy and you'll continue to sink, too light and you'll be bobbing with your head above the surface. ANYWAY - lecture over. Hit me up if you ever want a diving buddy - cheers!

Love this video Alex. Your videos are so calming and informative with great filming. I'm trying not to be irritated by the comment below that this cabin experience is so 'middle class'. We all watch You Tube videos for different reasons, for information and enjoyment. Just because I, for instance, really enjoy good crime documentaries, it doesn't mean that I'm a criminal or potential serial killer (at the age of 77 its too late to pursue a criminal career 😂). I also love wild nature even though I can no longer explore a wilderness, go camping and attempt to ascend a rocky outlook. It is better to look into and enjoy other peoples worlds and experiences in order to have a wider understanding and outlook on life. Carry on as you have been doing Alex, don't be swayed by others who would stop following you. Your number of subscribers tells us that you are doing great.

Scotland is on my bucket list... not too far to travel from Wales. Alex you're adorable - the loch is slightly over seasoned. Classic! Oysters are a very expensive mouthwash. I've never tried cooked oysters. Another totally beautiful experience watching your video. Live, love, laugh. Namaste, Alex

Good video Alex, really enjoyed it. Made me want to stay here. Clicked the link and was a bit disappointed tbh. No children allowed, max of 2 people to stay here, no friends allowed to visit, earliest check in 3.30pm, check out by 10.30am, minimum 2 night stay @ £235 a night. That £470 for 43 hours of cabin use. I guess if you can afford that for 2 nights and have extra money for all your food, plus don't have kids it would be a nice experience.

My partner and I stayed about a mile from Loch Etive 7-11th June. The weather was hot aside from a wonderful thunderstorm on the last night. We also enjoyed some delicious fresh seafood and had magnificent encounters with nature. No midgie bites for us not being near the water in the evenings! Scotland is beautiful and totally underrated 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🦀🦪🦞🦐🌲

Hey Alex, I've been avidly watching your videos every day since I found your channel about a week ago. I've for some reason found it difficult to find other people interested in all of the things I am (foraging, homesteading, gardening, cooking, travelling). Your videos are largely inspiring as you seem to live the life I hope to begin very soon. Thank you so much for creating such pleasant and positive videos, your curiosity and thirst for knowledge is really lovely :))

There's a few places to see red squirrels in england! Largely islands (Brownsea island is known for it, pretty sure the Isle of Wight too). But also a few heaths and woodlands have managed to somehow keep the greys out. I spent a night on brownsea a number of years ago and saw so many red squirrels!

Beautiful spot, I love Fyne Ales so looks handy for there, Hurricane Jack and Jarl are my favourites of theirs. It looks very peaceful there, I find it very relaxing when you sit somewhere and there is virtually no man made sounds, just the sea, animals and the wind (and quite possibly rain). You do also notice the longer days even heading a bit North of Edinburgh but when you get into the isolated areas you also notice even in summer just how dark the nights get without any stray light. The midges are often terrible on the west coast, Skye is brutal for them, particularly when camping at Glenbrittle to attempt some of the Cuillin ridge, heard various theories, the Marines in that area use Avon skin so soft, others suggest sprays, there are some candles etc than can mitigate them slightly or as one old boss said “take up smoking for the weekend”! Enjoyed the video, looks like you had a lovely stay and were very lucky with the weather, I do think when the weather is good that Scotland is perfect (think the same for the rest of the country but especially patriotic about Scotland)! Try the islands next time if you haven’t already you can end of on some of the prettiest beaches you will ever see with only the occasional seal or if you are lucky an otter for company!

Well worth investing in a Mosquito net that goes over you hat/cap with a pair of gloves. Allows you to go out fishing earlier and later. If there is more wind it keeps the Mossies of more. Lived in Scotland for 16 years and loved it.

Great video again, Alex. I love how this is off-grid and so private. More people need to consider living in Tiny Homes like this, and homesteading a little property. A couple people from my family are headed to England and checked on booking the cabins, but they are booked up during that time they will be there. Bummer! [2] Should have brought McBoatFace with you and spent a little time on the water fishing from that. [3] You are very brave to eat oysters. Many generations in my family, had a tradition of having Oyster Stew each year for Christmas Eve Dinner. I couldn't eat it. Made me queasy. That tradition stopped with my parents. But we still do a Seafood Festival on New Years Day. Crab, Lobster, etc. [3] We do make Beer and Wine on our farm, but a very limited quantity. We grow 1 acre of grapes. My grandparents used it for making jellies and jams. I own their farm now, and make Jellies, jams and wines. We Brew Belgium style Craft beer. SO,, I can't wait for your Beer Video. We grow organic hops, barley and rye on our family farms, that gets sold to micro-breweries & small distilleries in our Region.. [4] Thank you so much for yet another fun and informative video. My entire family really enjoys them. Gives us all inspiration. Keep them coming. Can't wait for the gardening and Brewing videos. Anticipation, Alex. lol

what an amazing spot! From what I’ve heard about oysters. if you eat them raw(alive) you have to chew them, because if you swallow it takes longer for them to die. which gives them time to release compounds that can cause food poisoning.
