Truly a blessing to live in such a paradise. For spiderbites use activated charcoal mixed with honey on wound and cover it with plastic wrap it draws out the poison, its healing properties works well for any wound. Enjoy your paradise such a gift from God❤

Hi Guys, don’t know how but I just watched your latest video and you have me hooked right now, I’m subscribed and going to binge watch all of what you have done on this amazing life. Great to hear that an Aussie family doing amazing and interesting stuff in this sometimes crazy world. Aussie, Aussie, Aussie,oui oui oui. ❤

Same thing just happened to me! They just popped up and I was blown away at the beauty of Uepi and this beautiful family 😍 I've been binge-watching since! Lol I'm very surprised to see that they have been posting for 3 years and they haven't reached 100 thousand subs yet! I'm thinking they should collab with a couple larger channels. @Eamon and Bec, @lifeuncontained, just to name a couple. Both with small children and living a remote lifestyle. They could visit each other and post on their respective channels to bring in a larger audience. I could see them having a great time while potentially growing their youtube family. Sorry for the book! 😂

Very informative video. Lots that resonate as someone also living on a tropical island. Thanks for sharing your perspective on the other life forms that co-exist in nature with you. We tend to forget that in most cases we met them on the land before we took up house and as opposed to seeing them as threats, creating a symbiotic relationship 🙏🏿

Great channel Guys. This part of the world is all new to me (watching from France). A specific video on the weather through the year, the temperatures on the island would be teaching. Also i love watching your kids discovering creatures’life. Your daughter express herself beautifuly. (my kids are now students raised on the mediterranean east coast)

Haha bats in the house 😂 brings me back to when we lived in Indonesia, we’d regularly find them hanging in the living area, their dinner on our dining table in the morning 🤦🏼♀️😂 loved this video guys! Love your open honesty and easiness - like I’m sitting on a comfy chair opposite you. When the time comes for solar, I hope you film it! It’ll be really interesting to see that on the scale of the resort. Ok, switching to a voice message now 😉🥰

We haven't had an earthquake while at Uepi, but we were woken up at 2am by one at Matikuri, the shaking, the roaring and rumbling noise while inside a house builts on stilts on the ocean front of an island with maximum altitude above sea level about 2-3m it felit like a pretty adventurous experience. Regarding dangerous wild life, we still have a running joke 15 years on - when we asked the guide while kayaking around Chubikopi about salt water crocodiles he said there were some far out by that island there about 30km away, but none right there, so we were safe. Since then we're discussing every now and then how long it would take a crocodile to swim 30km :)

I have only just come across you, so it was great to get some background….so interesting & inspiring to ‘witness ‘ a different lifestyle….& also quite a contrast to another couple who live on a remote Indonesian Island that I have been following for sometime. Fabulous for your children . Best wishes from the Uk x

I’d visit a witch doctor now and then anyhow. Why not? I’d love to see what Jase’s typical day is like. I think everyone was stressed during Covid. I’m not sure if there were many positive sides to it, though, at least for me. I guess finding you two’s channel was a good thing. I wouldn’t have learned to dive without that inspiration, but I still wish Covid never happened.

Bats in the house at night is a very Solomon Islands thing. We occasionally have bats in the house at night. For spiders, I didn’t remember having problems with spiders although we have all sorts of them. But I don’t like snakes at all. Great video.

Haha the bats 🦇 ahhhh crazy that it was but got them out with no poops inside thank goodness and the kids didn’t even wake up 🤭 most Solomon Islanders don’t like snakes… at least most here are harmless!

Hi again. This was really interesting - thanks! It's great you're letting us pick your lives apart too. One question I have after watching this: what are your 'long-term' plans? Once you retire will you be able to continue living on Uepi? (Would you want to?) Can you even buy property there, being you're, 'officially,' foreigners there for work purposes? I also can't imagine you'd settle so well in many other places either, actually. Just wondered...

I have watched a few of your videos now. Consequently, there are a few questions. One I don't know if you have Chickens. Is there a reason for this? 2. Do they replant the forest? This should be encouraged for longevity. I think it would be. meat too much? Particularly bacon. I know this is a first-world problem. Would you be able to do your Paddy? Qualification.

I agree that a collab with another popular KZbin channel could help them grow their channel. Eamon and Bec, Life Uncontained, a channel that has young kids and they could host each other and post it on their channels to grow their fan base. I love this channel and can't believe that they don't have 100 thousand subs already.

The resort. He did say his parents have been there for a while. So maybe it’s a family business.
@jenniecallomon1644 ай бұрын
I have two questions…. Was the resort you run/own established by your family or did you take it over from someone else.?….. Also do you follow any blogs yourself??. I follow another couple on a remote island , a couple in Thailand , a couple who are the only inhabitants of a remote Scottish island & a couple in Alaska ( that’s a contrast to yourself!) I don’t have television & watch while I’m in my studio.

Jase’s parents took over what was just a small research station in the early 80’s and have been the owners operators since then. We follow a couple of sailing channels as their alternative lifestyles resonate with us although we prefer island life for sure!

Hi guys! Been following you since covid basically, and dreaming of having a lifestyle as fulfilling as yours. In my late 30s, have a beautiful family (wife and two small boys), we are both professionals and make a good living. BUT we were bitten by the SCUBA bug +10yrs ago and ever since we wanted to (i) move to a tropical climate (likely indonesia) (ii) open a dive resort or dive shop (iii) and thereby bringing my family closer to nature and experiences that could provide my kids with core values based on respect for nature, living sustainably and making memories, instead of being based on societal conformity and chasing materialistic goals. We have zero background from hospitality, but true grit and strong motivation. Now, based on your experiences and knowing what you know today, would you have considered such a leap of faith yourselves in similar circumstances? I don’t want to grow old, with a big pile of cash only to freeze my butt off in a cold climate. HELP!
