0:59 those fruits are Thai melons. When they are ripen ready to eat they are soft like honeydew and taste close to cantaloupe. Thai people eat them fresh with sweet coconut milk.

Great video mate. I used to like the old rural videos by the lake and stuff. But looks like you have another rural place to walk around when you like and chill. Especially with that sun shelter spot to have a seat in. I’d love to sit out there at dusk and watch the distant lightning shows. It’s fantastic the way your fiancé’s family have taken to you. We enjoyed the walkabout mate. Lovely scenery with great variety of edibabe plants, love the bamboo shoots when they are bottled and fermented. Nice and quiet out there, didn't hear motor bike noise or even dogs barking. Good place to bunker down and relax, thanks for the informative content.

That one plant was an Okra. There are a lot of older people running farms and gardens here in the US. My mom ran her farm until she passed at 83, and I have a huge garden I tend to at 64, all in the desert. It's called extreme gardening. My daughter stays at a place in Thailand, where she gets to go out and pick her breakfast or lunch, and they prepare it for her.

Your average Thai can't make enough on just farming, that's why a high % of taxi's and motorbike taxi's drivers in BKK are all from isan. Many young Thai's don't want to farm as it's very hard work and very little profit.

That place looks mint 👍👍 With the rice, is it just easier to manage compared to high profit crops? Also all the soil you see in the videos looks like packed down clay. I never see compost piles, or cover crops being tilled back in or mulched, rarely ferment brewers. Does the heat make it to hard to do that stuff? To make the ground black rich and loamy

Great video Ricky! Spending time with Runtiwa's parents in their own surroundings and taking an interest in what they do and how they live on a daily basis, is a surefire way to forge a solid long-lasting relationship with them and Runtiwa of course too.
