When I watch sailors on KZbin, one of my most favorite things about your lives is your ability to hide from the news of the days for long periods of time.

I was a cruising sailor all my life until age and infirmity got me. The moment you step aboard, every priority in your life changes. Wind speed and direction kicks War scares and dictators to the curb. Tide times are vital, NY Times, forgotten. The judgement calls come thick and fast but they’re totally different to the ones you make ashore. And you experience weather, the raw power of nature and, of course, the incessant motion which, after a few days of acclimatisation would make a return to land feel like you’d landed in the middle of an earthquake.

News of the day is not important... No matter if your sailing or in regular life... Why concern yourself with what you yourself can not change..!! The beauty of sailing is ignorance of daily news, it's making a conscious choice to concern yourself with what fulfills your soul. An not what news, telly or whomever you chose to put value in above your own..! I only watch YT sailing a local news of where I am... I'm gonna be super honest... I can not fixate on what some paid to play elitist is telling me what's real. I live in a world they couldn't navigate let alone comprehend... I just vote for the person who cares about everyone but Baddies an lier's... I was raised to have a moral compass an I trust me that some talking heads!!! Mutterings of a Hapi Hipi DK!! I chose happiness an I'm grateful... Sorry so much bla bla!! Love you ,enjoy life there's so much to see good!! ✌🏼💗😊⛵🦅🪶😘🫂😘

Yes we did enjoy Ashley, very much. The shot of the kids looking at the sun setting sat side by side was a beauty. Bodi by his dads side taking in whats happening and your obvious love and respect for the ocean and its inhabitants, under and on the surface is so great to see and listen to. Appreciate your time sharing with us such good quality videos. Thanks. Wish you continuing safe passage 👍👍

You guy’s ROCK!!! You are by far the best sailing channel on KZbin! Your shared life experience is like no other! The way you show your passion for life and sailing is incredible. Ben’s philosophies are from his heart and soul that makes them so inspiring. Sharing the maintenance and knowledge of sailing is again incredible plus you have never made this a info commercial, which is really appreciated and just proves how much you think of your viewers in a very unselfish way… I’d have to say another thing is your family life with so much love and respect for each other is though the roof! And we the viewers are not inundated with your beautiful children and I mean that in a very respectful way others channel’s that have had children much like yourselves have a tendency to by a little overwhelming with their pride of their little ones…like I said you folks ROCK! And I wish I was in a position to help you with your Patreon but right now I can not 😢… I’ve been watching you guys as far back as Ashley hold up her paper cup of coffee in what I believe was 2012 wow 11 years I feel like I know you personally…. Rock on guys and ❤ya..

Beautiful episode. I could sense Ashley's peace. What a contrast to the last episode, kind of like life. We go through stormy seas while the yearn for calm waters motivates us to keep going. It seems some have more smooth waters through life while others battle the waves until avoiding the storms becomes their soul purpose.

I watch you guys for about 5 years now. Your vids are always fun and inspiring. For me as a German it sounded really funny when i found out the German "background" of Ben. And while watching scenes, when Ben talks from the Off, he reminds me of an old best friend from long ago, with who i put my feet together in the sand of hidden beaches, drank some good ol' beers and traveled all around with. It's easy to think of having a cold one with you, Ben, somewhere no matter where, and talking about life and all. Anyway, fair winds and stay like you are, you inspiring Tribe of Nahoa! 😎

Absolutely love this sailing channel - grounded, well balanced life - you 2 have pivoted into parenthood on a boat so well. Know it must be a lot of work, and you navigate the water and life - no matter what you never complain. Any barriers or problems that arise - drama is contained and solutions are found. Glad you are back on your true home. Let the adventures and most importantly fun begin.

This is a delightful video. This will be the first sailing video I'll watch more than once. It shows the world what a family is meant to be and some of the joys that come with that commitment to family. We raised our kids on our boat while we sailed around the world 1997-2004. Best decision ever. We still have very close relationships with our children, and now with our grandchildren. So many parents won't make the sacrifices necessary to build a strong family because they think money or "me time" or whatever is more important at the moment. Those parent, sadly, will learn too late that without making those sacrifices now they will miss out on life's best blessings both now and in the future. Don't let the naysayers get you down. You're doing it right. And what a wonderful video you've put together here.

Videos like these are great. It gives a much better idea to people about the average situations on board than just filming the dramatic or planned things. This is pretty much how we experience live on board and more people would like sailing if they had this as a picture. They now often see “a created show” instead. Happy to see the kids enjoying boat life. The face on Willa when the drawings blow away… 😅

I have enjoyed watching how you clean fish, and your techniques mirror mine, which were taught to me from the get-go by my Dad and other old salts. Skinning Dolfins before filleting, and segmenting the Wahoo befor cutting away the skin, leaving the bloodline, is exactly the way I was taught to do so many years ago. BTW, Wahoo is BY FAR my favorite offshore meat. Anyway, it looks like one thing that I noticed in this segment that differs from the way I was taught is the method you used to bleed the Wahoos. Instead of severing the main artery behind the head, we have always instead severed it just ahead of the tail, by cutting to the backbone, breaking it and cutting the artery there, which in my opinion bleeds out the whole fish more completely. We don't completely cut the tail off, but leave it instead, initially, which provides another "handle" on the fish to continue filleting, or using it to throw the fish in the box.

When I was raising my children tv time was when I needed to do chores or shower. It was my live in babysitter barney was my daughters favorite and my grandsons is molly of Denali, and wild kratts, since I live in alaska and all. They are both are educational which I love. I loved cartoons and still watch them and be honest I still learn when I watch wild Kratts Check it there pretty cool.

I am following you discreetly since a long time … and this video is the best you ever made :-) … showing 24 hour life on board on a “normal” passage was very very educative and open mind about ourselves. Thank you :-)

Let your kids be bored! We teach kids that have been raised on 24/7 entertainment and they can't sit for more than a second without something to do without causing problems, and they need so much micromanaging when they do, do stuff that every education professional I come in contact with is beyond frustrated.

I love these videos. God job to you guys for raising your kids right. I grew up in the beach and spent thousands of hours on boats. I love videos of family life on the boat sailing around the world.

Loving your fantastic voyages. Incredible with your children especially. And you seem to work as a special team overcoming any problems. Your narration is especially good too. And the filming , especially at sea takes us viewers with you! (Amazing drone sequences eg in rough weather). Entering over the bar at Knysna S.Africa timing high water minus one hour during marginal weather is the same as my 18 years as ships pilot here in North Devon over our bar. Our ships were mainly cargo ships (carrying bulk dry cargos and Tankers which ONLY carry liquids such as oil) Enjoyed that episode too. Thanks for the adventures! Rog.
