Yes, Indonesia is a country with thousands of different cuisines, and Indonesia has 37 provinces, 416 counties and 98 cities, 17,504 islands, 1,340 ethnic groups and 718 languages with the main language being bahasa Indonesia. This makes Indonesia a food haven. If you don't know Indonesia maybe you know Bali? Yes Bali is a part of Indonesia, Bali is a province not a country. 😊👍

Indonesian street food should gain more recognition. They may be a bit saltier and even spicier than any regular Asian street food, but they're still the worth the shot. Anyone missing out on this will probably regret that they didn't do it.

hello i found your video in my homepage yt I suggest you to come to Indonesia from Jakarta, Bali, Medan, Surabaya, Makassar, Bandung, Jayapura, Pontianak, Manado, my hometown is Tasikmalaya. Indonesia has a variety of interesting culinary cultures and so on, it's good to tell people abroad. I recommend rare culinary delights for foreign tourists to try, namely the typical culinary of my city, Tasikmalaya, the name is Nasi Tutug Oncom, Nasi Cikur, culinary Sundanese restaurants and culinary origins from China, Yamien noodles. I'm sorry, I'm going to tell a long story like this and I'm sorry also my English skills are still using Google Translate because I'm only proficient in Indonesian, partly Sundanese.

Indonesian cuisine is vegetarian friendly because during the olden days meat, any kind of meat, is a luxury (colonialism, whats up). For example beef rendang, there is a vegetarian version made from young jackfruit to substitute the beef. Nowadays jackfruit rendang is hard to find tho, especially out of west Sumatra.
@faustinuskaryadi66102 жыл бұрын
Let me inform you that vegetables dishes in Indonesia isn't really vegan friendly. The peanut sauce in gado-gado contain shrimp paste, and also the topping is shrimp cracker. Most gado-gado vendors also add boiled egg on gado-gado that they sell. Also it will not pass Chinese Buddhist Vegetarian standard since many Indonesian vegetables dishes are using garlic, shallot, and onions for seasoning which is not allowed in Chinese Buddhist vegetarian diet.

Salad vegetables with peanut sauce Rp.130.000 Gado-Gado Rp.10.000 😆
@faustinuskaryadi66102 жыл бұрын
I think the price is IDR 130.000 because they sell it in New York where living cost is higher than Jakarta. In Jakarta, the gado-gado that sold by middle to high class restaurants is probably around IDR 30.000-40.000 and the name is still gado-gado. The IDR 10.000 one is sold by street vendor.

It is tho.. are jakartans?? Breakfast in Jabodetabek or greater jakarta commonly consist of lontong sayur betawi or padang, nasi uduk and bubur ayam, even nasi tim.
@AA-ne5re2 жыл бұрын
Nasi uduk, bubur ayam, lontong sayur, nasi kuning, Ketoprak, Mie bangka, are common jakartan's heavy breakfast menu. You can easily check which shops or carts ready for breakfast every morning tho, so yeah Lontong Sayur is one of them. I'd put fritters as snack or substitute of breakfast.

Yeah actually Indonesia doesnt have standard breakfast options. It's quite odd. Many just eat more rice. 😴 Also they don't use mashed potatoes. It's never served with Nasi Padang. If it was served with your rendang that is something very unusual. They do have potato cakes called perkedel.
