What is truly indonesian are the ethnic and traditional music we already have, dangdut is the result of cultural appropriation, just because something is popular, doesn't mean it is correct. Indonesia is too diverse of a nation to truly have 1 single type of music. Similar to how even though hip hop and electronic music is extremely popular in Europe, those are nowhere near what you would call something truly European. Besides, most of the dangdut songs are just used for shitpost memes, a lot of people do not really listen to it for leisure, this is proven by the top indonesian charts, people listen to that shit for the shits and giggles, not the actual quality.

My Chemistry with Indonesia/indonesians:- Signing in at Carnival cruises- Indonesian crew members talking to me in their language... Mingling with Indonesians:- since our physical looks are very similar we mingle easily. Gw bisa berbahasa inggris tapi logat gw emank nga seperti orang indonesia tapi itu bukan karna gw nga cinta indonesia tapi memank cara ngomong gw begitu klo gw bikin kaya logat indonesia malah gw maksa mungkin lu bisa merasakan hal ini klo lu bisa berbahasa inggris/berbahasa lain sekarang gw tanya lu bisa nga berbahasa inggris/bahasa lain klo lu nga bisa berbahasa lain sih wajar elu ngasih statement kaya gini,biasa nya orang yang ngasih statement kaya gini otak monolingual alias cuma bisa satu bahasa hahahaha

Logat Inggrisnya renyah banget, mencerminkan Endonesah sekali. Their accents are very thick (in a good way) that represent how Indonesian phonetics can be applied to appropriate English without sounding bule .
