Great Barrier Reef is brilliant, but very busy and crowded. If you want a different, but equally good reef in Australia, head over West to Ningaloo Reef. It is more remote but you'll get to see the fascinating Dugongs. Best thing about Ningaloo is you don't need a boat to get out. It isn't as large though as Great Barrier Reef but it is still 1,390 square miles. I just th I I Ningaloo is better preserved than GBR.
