Meanwhile, look at what is going on in Chinese public schools. The government is training children as young as 4 and 6 years old to hate and kill the Japanese and the Americans. They are going through militaristic training to this day. A video showed a child diving onto a grenade to save his comrades in an exercise. Why is no one talking about this? I wonder where our gun rights would end up if the Supreme Court ruled that 2A only applied only to militias, not to individuals. Would we be able to join militias and keep personal firearms? Would they have to be held in an armory/range? What kind of training would be required/allowed? Seems we'd have a lot of constitutional issues with that hypothetical ruling because in many states paramilitary organizations are illegal, but that's what a militia is. Since militias are generally illegal, I don't even really believe that the politicians believe the second amendment applies to militias. I think they just don't want gun rights at all.

Arrr, saulty weapons...
@williambuehler25336 ай бұрын
The thing with the term "assault weapon" is that it's made up of 2 vastly different categories. Without having both you can't have either. Assault: this is an ACTION. Someone must perform said action. They don't just happen on their own. Weapon: this is a tool, ranging from a 1” blade all the way up to a nuclear bomb. The f-15 is not a weapon it has weapons on it. It was designed to carry weapons. However that doesn't change that it is an aircraft. When I look up a f-14 it pulls up an aircraft. Then while reading about the aircraft I can learn that they are NORMALLY equipped with the guns, missiles or bombs ECT. But again it doesn't say it's a weapon. So what is an assault weapon? Well the only possible way to accurately label a firearm as an assault weapon would be to put it in the hands of someone actively planning, or executing an assault. At that moment in time it's an assault weapon because it was the tool used or planned to be used to commit the act of an assault. When the weapon goes back into the safe guess what it's again incapable of committing an assault it's missing the operator who is providing the action. So it's just a mechanical weapon... Nothing more nothing less. Without an individual the weapon can not just decide to go on an assault of the white house. As a person I could and I could pull out any type of weapon again from a small 1" blade, a matchette, a rifle, bolt, semi, full auto, all the way up to bombs. But the point is that an individual HAD to decide to do the action... When I was in school kids threw rocks and teachers told us rocks were WEAPONS. Not because of what they are laying on the ground, but because the way we used them. And the crime would have been assault, you think they wouldn't have added "with a deadly weapon" if someone were to have been killed?

@Googlywinker4 ай бұрын
That is very true, however, I do believe that people should have to pass a gun course and receive a permit to posses a weapon. Firearm possession certainly needs to be “well regulated” as the 2nd amendment clearly states. I also support most bans on the proverbial genotype of guns/ ammo, i.e., what its inherent capabilities are, e.g., full auto/burst, armor piercing, high explosive rounds, etc… Bans on a particular “genotype” of a weapon ensure that the weapon is not more deadly than normal. For example, in the case of fully automatic firing modes; which are designed to allow the user to shoot as many rounds as possible at a target to ensure maximum destruction, the problem isn’t necessarily the fact that fully auto weapons are “more deadly”. If you are using a weapon against a person, you generally are intending to kill them; which is the purpose of firearms in general. The problem with full auto is that it is invariably harder to control, as you are firing multiple rounds per trigger depression, rather than just one in semi-auto. Such difficulties in handling significantly increase the risk that one of the many bullets expelled from the barrel of the gun will hit a target in which the user does not intend to harm. In this scenario, the risk of harming others in which you do not intend to harm greatly outweighs the necessity of owning such a weapon, and thus super-cedes the right to posses one. The same concept goes for specialty ammo such as armor piercing, high explosive, etc.. which all increase the risk of over penetration and subsequent harm to someone who may not be the target of the firearm user.

You or we need to be a resident of Idaho in order to purchase a serialized firearm, everything else is fair game.
@josephhautzenroeder75126 ай бұрын
Not entirely true. FFL’s MUST follow the laws of the state in which you are a resident. If your state prohibits purchasing an “assault weapon,” an FFL in another state can’t sell it to you. Illinois residents can’t go to Indiana and purchase without a FOID card, for example.

@nathanmielke19776 ай бұрын
You can, but you have to transfer it to an FFL in the state of washington in order for them to do the background check. And then you can't transfer a gun that washington state deems illegal. It's a wild ride that you're held liable for the laws of one state while in the jurisdiction of another, I can't think of any other law that is treated the same. It used to just be a federal law for handguns, and all states abide by the FFL transfer laws on handguns, but now in washington state it applies to all firearms.

Never mind I got my answer in the video, I can't imagine how a state can get away with the clear violation of your second amendment rights by not letting you buy a semi auto firearm or any NFA items if you have your paperwork for said items and paid the unconstitutional tax and been approved by the federal government that is just mind blowing, guess that Washington state would rather have a lot of drug addicts in the streets than normal people having the ability to exercise their second amendment rights in their own home
@Franimus6 ай бұрын
Items that require a background check or 4473 are the only times the store would ask for or know where you live. So it's up to the purchaser to know the laws of their home state and whether they can actually bring all those items home.

I wonder what would happen if a person moved to Idaho, bought guns, then moved back?
@Franimus6 ай бұрын
@@darksideblues135 The laws prohibit people from bringing those items in, so you'd basically have to get rid of them. The only other option I can think of is to get a very secure storage unit in Idaho and store the items there, only using them on that side of the state line. Or if you're a politician just keep a second house in the other state (and again only keeping/using the items in Idaho, but avoids the storage unit sketchiness).

I walked into a pawn shop in Seattle on First St. and walked out with a pistol 20 minutes later. I walked into a gun shop in Tacoma and 20 minutes later left with a pistol. No papwerwork, no problem. Of course that was 1966 and Washington State had reasonable gun laws. Today I live in Georgia and I can still buy whatever I want and walk out with it just as in Idaho. A CCW serves the same purpose as a NICS check so it's select the gun, fill out the 4473, pay the bill and leave with the gun.

Mr. Kirk, We have the same here on East Coast between New Jersey and Pennsylvania. This is why for example I am member of of two gun clubs one in NJ and one in PA shooting with my friends mostly in PA. Good point on not bringing anything illegal to residence state... however other options apply. We are not owned by state - we are just residents and that applies only to state residence regulated gear. Possession and ownership are two different things as far as locality.

Former lobbyist for vaping in Albany here. We used to say the phrase, "It's like you're saying pizzarias can keep selling pizza, but they can't have any cheese, sauce, or toppings for sale." I'll throw this out there, too. From my experience in NYS/Albany/Rochester/Buffalo, the legislators who enjoy firearms are numerous. The problem we have is the perception of who should be allowed to possess certain types of firearms. You're arguing for absolute freedom from people who don't see that as an option - but don't necessarily disagree that most of these options should be on the table. They disagree with how we decide who gets to have them and how rare that happens. Understanding your adversary's perspective always helps you form a more effective plan of attack.

You're getting creative for your KZbin videos. I like it. You're a pretty good actor too. I wonder how this FFL would have reacted had you asked if some guy from Cali came and bought a couple of 80% aluminum lowers. Would he get the same treatment in his shop as a Washington resident? As far as I know you don't even need an ID to get an 80% lower. And if you pay in cash there is just no way of telling. Of course all that is hypothetical. Who would drive 1,000+ miles for a few pounds of aluminum, right? The scene with the drool was pretty funny and I can see where it would have fit in, but you made the right choice and put it in the outtakes. 👍
