I love the sofa table that runs the entire length of the sectional and has the built-in outlets! That is a simple and great idea! I think I'd love to do that and add some shelving above it. Thanks for sharing!

I bought a 1974 house in the Adirondacks at the end of ‘21. Every outlet and switch minus the kitchen are black, and all the outlets are upside down!!! Some electricians did that back then because the ground part of the plug would be at the top in case whatever cord was in the outlet was sticking out. That ground part would be hit first by hands/water etc. Crazy!! I’ve actually been slowly changing out all the black outlets and switches in the house myself!!! No, I’ve not done this before. The 3 way switches have been a bit difficult, but so far so good!!! I have done SO MUCH to this old brown interior house!!!! Also changed all the door knobs from mismatched chrome/brass to all nickel color. Painted the fireplace white, and will be working on the pantry after I finish the wiring stuff. If you do decide to paint the paneling, it’d be beautiful!! I’m disabled so can’t get on a ladder, but have a very tall young man that helps when I need it. The low outlets I’m doing when my daughter visits because she can get on the floor to screw them back in. 😁😁

I love the texture of real bricks, and I like the clean, fresh look of painted bricks. Your whitewashed brick is the best of both worlds.

You could take a little bit of the leftover peel and stick wallpaper and put it over the edges of the light switch.

The upside down plugs usually are put in that way when that outlet is controlled by a light switch. They did that so people know which outlet is the one to plug into for it to work correctly.

Paint the electrical outlets to blend either the wall covering. I made some for my home. They blend in with the wall covering beautifully

I’m so glad you whitewashed the fireplace brick instead of painting it. Looks great! For switch plates, I would paint them to match the wallpaper-or use the wallpaper to cover them.

I LOVE your do over! i would paint that light switch to match but not bother with the outlet cover. I'm afraid I would have to put shelves in those sofa tables to store books, puzzles or what ever not needed but occasionally. I'm really impressed at how well the sofa table matches your paneling. Great job and so many helpers and snoopervisors! Since you asked, I would paint the switch covers to blend in with the mural. You are an excellent painter and it would make it truly look like a piece of art. I'm not generally a lover of wallpaper, but this is really pretty. And, even though you didn't ask, I would also paint the coffee table to be a brighter white. The table shelf is fabulous and so practical. The Dracaena is toxic to dogs and cats, so hopefully it is out of the way where no one will try to take a bite. There are some varieties that look more like grass, so they can be tempting to animals. Just something to be aware of.

What a beautiful space!! Love the wall paper, amazing idea to cover glass!! So smart, removing large panels of glass can be very hard and dangerous!! Everything turned out beautiful, Cory. I've seen a lot of Monet paintings in museums in my life and your wall looks exactly like the real paintings.😀 We live in an apartment (our house was built in 1905), and have a lot of strange things, like the upside-down electricity solutions and other funny things. Your house is 50 years old, if I'm not mistaken, so it is natural to have a lot of strange things in it. You have to start to own it! Haha!😀

13:25 Before you even mentioned painting the switch plate cover, I was thinking. She should paint them to blend with the wallpaper. With your talent you could easily use a couple of shades of green and make it blend seamlessly with the background. 24:00 Opaque is solid, you are going for transparent (see through)

I think this is going on my top 10 favorites list of your transformations. This came out so awesome! Especially the snack station! (It really did look like an elevator lol) I think personally I would keep the switch covers as they are. In my house if they were painted, they would probably blend in too much and I would have a hard time finding them 😂
