Living Room Makeover + Halloween Treats

In this episode I want to share the paint colour that I decided to choose for my living room. I'm also going to hang a few pictures and share some fun recipes for halloween including Jack O Lantern stuffed peppers and a Witch's Cocktail!

I agree with you: the F&B paint colour really makes the living area look warm and inviting. It actually makes your furniture look refreshed too. I know you were getting a bit over the floral sofas because you've had them a while but the walls now actually nicely balance them out, more so that it's fall/autumn. You did brilliantly there. The colour is perfect. It actually doesn’t seem as dark as the original sample I remember you considering. I love your armchairs as they are - they give the room that comfy English country house feel. Your rug will be the final thing to pull it all together. Love your new home!

I’m at a loss for words at how gorgeous that paint color turned out. The painting on the mantel seems to flow endlessly into a magical place. I really have to start getting more fresh flowers in my home. You do everything so lovely and yet simple and understated elegance. I love the cute broom sticks and I have another recipe to try ! Always have a food coloring set on hand, you can make any color sugar, very useful in baking for holidays, tinting icing. Love your spooky Halloween preparations!

I just love this color! It’s the same as I painted my walls. I love it and it looks amazing in your home. The picture you have over the fireplace is so beautiful and is such a elegant touch. Nicolas, I’m new to your channel and find you absolutely delightful. I’m an older lady (67) living in Canada and on my own. I teach 2nd and 3rd graders. I love what I do. I recently bought a small condo. I don’t have a desk and watching one of your videos gave me an idea. Hi Nicolas. When you do some more decorating please show us the before, during and the results? You can talk us through your ideas. It can be a nice learning process also for us. Would also nice to go through the process of hanging pictures on the walls. I change mine all the time LOL so dont worry to hang them permanently! Also put on the lights on either side of the fireplace when u lit the fire for the first time! Love to see the results on the walls.

I have to say, I was scrolling through my feed and up popped your latest video, leading to my exclamation, "He chose the Mouse's Back!" Needless to say, I gave my mates a pre-Halloween jolt. I agree, it looks quite cozy and soft, almost like a favorite moleskin overshirt. As with many comments herein, I absolutely love, love the choice of colour for your walls .... and the little Halloween treats; so simple. Do wish you'd have shown us your process of measuring & hanging you pictures. I can measure and still I get it so wrong. I just love your show and tell videos with the re-painting the furnishings, etc., the how to's. Thank you. Vancouver, BC has been weeks of pouring rain as well. When it stops, it's usually overcast grey, grey. Ah well. Awaiting next weeks vlog.

Always recut your rose stems just as you place them in the water and for roses as deep water as possible. You get some fabulous flowers there, so fresh. The wall color is stupendous, I’m so glad for you that you had the courage to go for the dark one! It’s all stunning, that color is the perfect backdrop for the lighter furniture and painted wood. The armchairs look wonderful!

Absolutely! And recut stems at a diagonal every few days to prolong beauty. And always add a tad of sugar (1/8 tsp.?) in water and everytime u refresh water maybe every 3 to 5 days. 🙂
