Hi everyone! I've seen a few comments about the running tap so thought it was easier for me to respond here! Please remember that I am trying to create entertaining content for you all to enjoy. Sometimes I film things in a way that will enhance the experience of the video. As this video is supposed to be relaxing and for people who enjoy ASMR, I wanted to include as many relaxing sounds as possible. What is more relaxing than running water? I have a dishwasher, but when I wash the dishes by hand I don't leave the tap running! Hope this helps - thanks

Your videos are always relaxing with or without the ASMR :) One good turn deserves another - have you tried using regular fizzy lemonade instead of water for your flowers? An old florist friend many years ago gave me that tip! Tried and tested it initially with a birthday bouquet of flowers at the time, dividing them into two vases, one with water and the lemonade won hands down for fully opening blooms and length of time they lasted🌼❤️🦋x

We can all be like Nicolas if we look at ourselves and others with the eyes of compassion, underdtanding and wisdom, not blaming, not judging but accepting full responsibility for our life, accepting that everybody who are in this world has a lesson to learn: love God, love our neighbor as ourselves. Nicolas shows us a perfect example of loving kindness, beauty, elegance, humity, forgiveness. We too can be like him. Let peace begin with me.

That was sooo perfect. That was my life until I grew old, my husband died aged 80 last year and I can’t walk. Can you imagine the frustration I feel when my life is upsi down. I have help twice a week and a cook daily and thank God for the help but I have unironed sheets. No flowers inside ... I have just started pressing flowers if my helper brings one in. Dear Nicholas make the most of every minute. Time goes past so quickly. Iwould love to know how you cope with evenings alone. After 15 months I still find it horrific. No one to talk to about what you are watching. No one to discuss your thoughts. Are you lonely ? I am going to watch this beautiful film again and can anyone help me ?

I'm so very sorry that you are now without your husband. You might watch some KZbin videos on lap activities such as card-making, miniature watercolors, origami, and that sort of thing. Maybe you have an iPhone or your helper could bring you one with which you could do FaceTime calls with friends or family. I find those the closest to being with someone. I'm 81, and I wonder at times what I'd do, how I'd be, without my husband! All the best to you!

Ah, that was so soothing. An observation (definitely not a criticism) - dishwashing, here in Australia we would never leave the tap running. We fill the sink with water and suds and wash that way. Being a very dry country we treat water as a precious resource. Lucky you to not have to ration it. Another observation is you put your duvet buttons up near the pillows. I have always put them At the foot of the bed. I’ll try it your way as it looks neater 😀

In the UK we have plenty of water and it isn't normally metred. You pay a standing charge however much or little you use. But running the hot tap continuously wastes energy and so I avoid it. I am constantly turning the taps on and off while doing the washing up. That's what takes the time: every item has to be rinsed in clean water as hot as your hands can bear. I've never lived in a house with a dishwasher.

I have a guy friend who LOVES to wash dishes. He said the same thing about washing dishes being therapeutic. I wash my dishes by hand immediately and never let let them pile up whereas he would let the dishes pile up for days and set aside time to wash them. I have an open concept apartment and the kitchen is the first thing you see when you walk in so I'm constantly putting things away and washing cups! I really like how your dining room has come together, I think it's one of those rooms you never think you need, until you need it.

This is wonderful. Thank you for inspiring us to take self care, setting a table for one and lighting the candles, Nicholas. So often, lunch alone is a rushed affair, plonking a plate down in the midst of my working/crafting area, looking at unfinished tasks and a small pile of irong, accusing me of being distracted or inefficient 😆

Just a lovely and clean and organized HOME.... that's what everybody wants and need. Thank you, Nicolas, for being such a good example to humanity of what a HOME should look and feel like.

I follow a few people on KZbin who do shopping Hauls, but you have given it a whole new level. I really enjoyed this video. I enjoyed seeing what you had purchased and why. So lovely to see you spending time at home and making your home so comfortable. Thank you 🧡

I like your use of the term "ASMR". If you get in the habit of cleaning and tidying for yourself, not just surprise guests, then the task also becomes the thrilling reward. As if you were the guest the home is being prepared for. A huge switch in mindset for many of us.

Nicolas, this was an especially lovely and tranquil video. I literally just melted in my sofa watching and listening. Nicolas, you mentioned that you love comfy squishy pillows. Would you mind mentioning what pillows you use? Give Sophie a pat. She is so precious.

So happy to hear this! I've had these pillows for a while and I think they are goose-down. I wouldn't buy them again because of the cruelty aspect x

@@NicolasFairford You had me at "I wouldn't buy them again for the cruelty aspect". ❤️. I just love your kind heart, Nicolas. You truly "get it". I don't think there is a more attractive quality in a person than love, respect, kindness, and protectiveness of innocent animals.

Nicolas, this was a very charming and warm video. The way you make your bed is a wonderful old fashion way to do so when you fold the sheets over the comforter as you did. It really takes me back to my childhood when that was always the way you made your beds. Your bed and bedroom are very lovely.

Your new space is looking great! I love that you put the painting over the fireplace.... I was hoping you’d try that. And I’m so glad you kept the big mirror! It really reflects the light. You chose a good place for it - it adds light and makes the space look bigger. Thanks for taking us along today, I really enjoyed it. 💗

So relaxing and soothing. I always pick up a few packs of napkins from IKEA. I thought I was crazy, but I put my flat sheet on the bed the same way. When I turn down the top, it looks so pretty.

You mentioned the red tiles I. The kitchen before : a heat gun helps remove old tile ….. I always keep backsplashes simple …. It should accent but not overpower.

That mirror looks fantastic over that sideboard in your dining room. I buy those hand towels at IKEA as well, as they are so useful. And I am admiring all your sets of staffordshire dogs! I have been unable to find one reasonably priced set, but I am enjoying the hunt! I have had to settle for singleton ceramic hunting dogs so far!
