The Cadillac Escalade-V is a ridiculous machine, a luxurious behemoth of an SUV that also defies the laws of physics. With a 6.2L supercharged V8 making nearly 700 horsepower, launch control and an exhaust that would embarrass a Camaro ZL1, the V is the most epic of SUVs. I spent some time with the new Escalade-V earlier this year and posted a full review, but this week we got to live with one for a whole week! Enjoy this vlog!

Bro you're absolutely correct. I have a 2021 Escalade Platinum that we bought brand new in 021 and I get 12-15 mpg and I'm happy with that. I just put a deposit on a 2023 V Escalade (as tested red exterior/black interior ) and I will be happy if I get the same mpg as Eddie X received on his test drives even though it's a 682HP beast........ Looking forward to the V...... slow delivery but hope I get it by the Fall

I'm about to trade in an Escalade Premium that I had since new for the past 3 years. I love the quality that went into the vehicle. The retractable side steps, sound damping material between the cabin and frame, solid dash that never squeakes, dual pane glass for outdoor noise reduction, excellent pickup, exterior ground and door handle lighting and much more. it all depends on gas prices. I have an 18 and usually fill up with 22 gallons @ $4.39 premium for around that price and last about a week lol since i don't drive much. it really drinks up the fuel when i leave it on sports mode. it sounds better but more fuel.

I think it needs a bigger gas tank. The low fuel light was on, and it only took 20 gallons. The range after filling up was only 313 miles.

Great review. What a machine. FWIW, some of the features you describe (air suspension auto-lowering) are not V (or even Escalade) specific. GM's marketing and engineering teams never seem to be in sync. That exhaust is beyond ridiculous. The more I hear it, the more I'm convinced they just used a Borla ATAK muffler. IMO the Touring muffler would've been a much better choice. Cold starts are not just ridiculous, they'll make your neighbors hate you. Instead of tones consistent with a $150k top-of-the-top-of-the-line ride, the thing sounds like an 18-year-old's truck after, loaded with Mountain Dew, the owner cuts out the mufflers. And of course, with all the Esky goodies, GM continues to offer the same cheapo turn signal tones you find in your LS-trim Tahoe. Fast-forward five years, I think we'll see that this doesn't age well.

The reason why it says 3 and 14 mi when you filled it up to the tank was that you had it on v mode for the entirety of the video and when you turn it off the fuel economy increases a little more. So in short: v mode bad when you are fuel conscious and economy mode good

Story time ... I remember when the 02 Escalade dropped and the only one to have one was like fucking juvenile or maybe aaron carter 😂😂 my buddy got literally 4 jobs and was doing car systems on the side for people in the city so he could afford one, he saved up 65,000 over the next year and we went to go look at them. while we were sitting in a black Escalade esv in the show room in our over sized basketball jerseys and matching head bands and scrolling our sidekicks for 22” spinners he suddenly gets up and says we gotta go to the bank. We get there and he gets a bank check for just under 60 grand so I’m pumped I’m like fuck yeah this summer is gonna be phat (lmfao) rolling in the Escalade with my homie. We go to his house and he hands his mother the bank check for the full amount of the pay off on their house. I remember being around 17 years old thinking that’s the most selfless thing I’ve ever seen in my life so a couple weeks later I called him and asked him to take me for a ride to the jaguar and Land Rover dealership and he’s like oh shit you getting the Range Rover this summers gonna be phat! (Lmfao) I went and picked out the nicest looking 2003 Pepsi blue on tan leather jaguar X type on the lot and bought the car for my mother (her favorite car at the time) now fast forward to present day I’ve been looking at these Escalades for myself for about a year but instead I recently chose to get myself the new Silverado and I’m currently in the market for an xt5 (her current fav car) for my mother as a gift for her 65th birthday coming up since the car she traded in the jaguar for (Nissan rogue) is having major issues after just hitting 100k miles so when she comes back from her vacation in two weeks she should have a big red bow on a brand new tinted out Cadillac in her driveway No meaning to the story besides I saw someone say they were going to buy one for their wife in the comments and had a flash back to 20 years ago lol (also you bet your ass I’m calling my buddy mike to come with me to the Cadillac dealership)

Torque converters lock when at highway / cruising speeds, not during aggressive driving. They lockup to prevent excessive slipping and heat.

Having a fully loaded at4 I will say GMC hits it out of the park with their camera system. Blows all the competition I've seen out of the water. Drive lines for the front facing camera. An intelligent system to auto switch between the front and rear facing camera. Front and rear cameras that automatically come on during certain situations. And a system that allows you to use all the cameras while in motion (at any speed), albeit for only a few seconds. Every other car, outside of GM, I've driven with a 360 camera system lacks one of these, making the experience suck when compared to GM
