Fyi, the colorado takes 87 octane. This is confirmed by the owners manual and interviews with the chief engineer. It makes 310hp and 430ft/lb with 87 octane. The Ford Ranger Raptor, according to the owners manual, does take 87 as a minimum, however requires 91 as a recommended fuel. The Ranger Raptor produces 405hp and 430lb/ft. IMO torque is the most important factor when it comes to trucks and its an even battle on both ends.
@tristanmosher61743 ай бұрын
It says on the Chevrolet site it takes 91
@Jay-me7gw2 ай бұрын
The problem with your torque argument is that the 2.7's torque tanks after 3000 rpm. Its only making 290 ft-lbs by 5600 RPM while the RR is still making ~390. Additionally, I believe the RR's torque curve is stronger below 3000 rpm. The official dyno chart that Ford just released with their new tune for the RR shows it making 425 ft-lbs at 2500 rpm. Also, I am not convinced that the 2.7L makes its rated power in anything but perfect conditions. I have test driven a ZR2 myself, and I have watched a bunch of videos now(TFLTruck and Getty), and it does NOT look like it makes anywhere near its rated 430 ft-lbs. Even the 2.3L Ranger gives it a run for its money.

I have a 2020 Colorado Bison and not having to slow down for speed bumps is one of my favorite things. Having come from a luxury sedan, it took me a bit to become accustomed to the idea, but now I like to emphasize the "speed" in speed bump. Those dampers actually do respond better the harder you hit them. As a lifelong resident, it's so cool to see downtown Detroit and the metro area in your backdrop! The last time I was at Holly Oaks, I was following behind a friend in a Can-Am X3 and we were both quite surprised at the truck's ability to make it through some of the more gnarly spots. I came away with some healthy rock gouges in my wheels and tremendous trust in the underside armor. My fun was eventually spoiled by a flat due to a rock getting jammed between the bead and the rim on one of my fronts, but the beadlock capable 35s on this new model would have prevented this issue.

Nice truck! I picked up a fully-loaded w/moonroof 2024 "regular" ZR2 in the blue about 1-1/2 months ago. LOVE it, and I figure I'll put 285/75/17's (34's) on it so I can still fit the spare under the bed, buy some aluminum skidplates for the gas tank and rear diff, MAYBE a 1-2" lift if I feel like it, maybe do a performance intake and cat-back exhaust and maybe a light ECU tune, and I'll have 95% of a Bison and Raptor for thousands less. As good as the suspension is, I don't feel the need for the expensive jounce bumpers. The Bisons are definitely badass though, but the pricing without an engine upgrade and the spare in the bed was the dealbreakers for me. Enjoy it, they're certainly great trucks!

Umm I have a ZR2 on order paid extra for the dampeners. Aside from the tires, AEV bumpers, skid plates, dampeners, and the seat wrap, the ZR2 and the bison are the same truck body wise and build. I'm not sure if you're confusing your words and are meaning "Colorado" instead of ZR2... I'll literally have better mileage, as well as acceleration. Ntm the truck comes with skid plates from the factory, just not steel. This information is straight from Chevrolet, and made sure what the differences were with my own research, and multiple conversations with Chevrolet
