Bought this helmet based on your review mate, and it’s all you said it would be. I never would have believed I could wear a full face that gave me the same feeling of freedom as me davida open face, but this delivers in spades. Thank you Toni, and thank you shoei, what a blinding bit of kit👍

I am just about to order one of these. I will be using it in Thailand. All helmets are hot here in the hot season. My Roof Boxer V8 chinbar mechanism has just called it a day, so this purchase will be soon. Always good to listen to someone who has done a lot of miles using a product. I stop in the rain over here. It's plain dangerous. I have subscribed. Nick: Yamaha SCR950, KTM 390 Duke, Yamaha Aerox 155.

Loved this review, really thorough and covered everything I needed to know. Thank you. Question: I measured my head and ordered a medium. It fills well and snug once it is on, the cheek pads feel tight and it’s very tight coming off. Did you feel it bedded in when you used it? I think going up a size will be massive and you never want a helmet to be loose! Thanks
@ToniReviews9 ай бұрын
Hi. Thanks for the kind words of support I’m glad you found the review helpful! It sounds like the helmet is the right size. Tryouts want a snug fit. It also does bed in more overtime. I’m actually thinking of getting new pads for mine to make it back to being snug again. As long as it’s not causing pain a snug fit sounds good. 👍

Hi. Yes I absolutely love this helmet... would choose it over any helmet I’ve ever owned. However... in the rain it feels like being shot in the face with a pellet gun. Wear a neck buff to cover your nose (it can still hurt though). But for fair weather riding I don’t think you can beat this.

One of the best reviews I've seen on here. Thank you! My only concern has been the ventilation part above the head. I've been trying to find a helmet that will help with preventing sweat at the top of my head because my current helmets cause me to get drenched during summer, which actually makes me not want to ride sometimes :/
@ToniReviews3 жыл бұрын
Hi. Glad you found it useful. If you suffer with oveheating in the helmet then I would say this probably isn’t the helmet for you as ventilation isn’t this helmets strong point. Maybe look at a helmet that has operational ventilation on the top (race helmets are usually good for this). Alternatively if you fancy something completely different try something like the shoei ex zero or maybe a flip front helmet. Hope this helps. 👍
@larifari43718 ай бұрын
@Bingomandingo If you're still sweating considr the AGV Sportmodular. The air intake on top looks modest but I don't know how they did it, it just literally blows you're head off! Even better than Schuberth E1 wich is pretty good itself. It is such a breeze.

Thanks for the review! When talking about avoiding bugs/rain getting between the googles and the helmet, what were you saying your solution was??
@ToniReviews2 жыл бұрын
Hi. I wear a neck tube which I pull up over my nose so that it covers the exposed bits of my face to help shield any bugs or heavy rain that could hit me through the opening. You still get pelted if it rains but it takes a lot of the sting out. Hope this makes sense and helps 👍

Good review. I have the Ex-Zero. I have the peak and don't use it as it acts like an aeroplane wing. Any more than 45mph you get lift-off...head starts tilting backwards!!! wind noise is bad (for me) without question have to use earplugs. 👍
@ToniReviews4 жыл бұрын
TeaPotWood that’s good to know. I don’t have the peak so interesting to hear it catches the wind like that. Definitely the ear plugs are required if riding especially on motorways or roads where your at higher louder speeds.

Great review, beautiful helmet! Thank you! Still concerned about the noise of this helmet. Would you know if there's any chin curtain compatible with the Ex-Zero? I believe it would reduce noise drastically!
@ToniReviews3 жыл бұрын
daniel plaza hi. I don’t think there is a chin curtain for the ex zero. That’s probably because of 2 reasons. 1 the chin guard is quite far out. Secondly the front of the helmet is open so it wouldn’t be sealing the air from entering the helmet. It is fairly noisy, but it is also a lovely helmet and a very enjoyable ride. Hope this helped. I did have a search for a chin guard and I couldn’t find one.
@danielplaza7773 жыл бұрын
@@ToniReviews Thank yo so much for your answer and for taking the time to search the chin curtain. What would you choose between the Shoei Glamster and the Ex-Zero?
@RandomGRK3 жыл бұрын
I can’t speak for the Ex Zero but the Glamster is a very poor helmet. Extremely noisy. Shutting the visor just amplifies the noise. I had one for a month and sold it.

Hi Toni, another great vid and a sub from me. You mentioned the rain scald with the goggles on, wondering though what the rain's like with the built in visor at its lowest setting?
@ToniReviews3 жыл бұрын
Hi. Many thanks for the sub. As for the built in visor , depending on angle if the rain, yes it can still reach the nose and cheeks. I found tilting my head slightly against the direction of the incoming rain helped slightly, but you will still experience getting hit in the face if the rain is hard enough. Hope this helps. 👍
@olympia33453 жыл бұрын
Came here for the helmet, commenting on the mentioned buff. I could use some advice since I got one recently, and I opted for the wool midweight, but I think it may not have been the best choice after all. It's warm yes, but not as tight as I imagined it would be, so it's not easy to make it stay in one place while I'm driving, I can feel it slipping. Any thoughts?
@ToniReviews3 жыл бұрын
Hi. I use 2 buffs when I ride. I use a more stretchy breathable on to cover face, nose and neck, and the I put a 2nd smaller woolly one just around the neck to keep that warm. That works for me. The neck buff I use for my face covering is here letuslive.co.uk/collections/all/neck-buff . Hope that’s helpful, take care 👍
@olympia33453 жыл бұрын

Hi Toni. Thanks for this rev. I like the looks of ex zero and how it matches with my triumph scrambler 1200, but have my doubts as i ride about 25 miles of highway every day for work. Apart from the noise how does it stand the 75-80 mh speed when paired with Barstow? From your experience what’s the max comfortable speed with ex zero + goggles?
@ToniReviews3 жыл бұрын
Hi. Personally I wear the Ex Zero most of the time and witht the Barstow goggles. For me personally I expect the ride to be noisy as the helmet is mostly open, so I expect that. Usually on my street Twin 900 im not really going above 75mph as its a strain for the bike, but at these sopeeds i think the helmet and the goggles are just fine for me. As I said road noise is going to be loud, but thats expected from a helmet of this style. Hope this helps, happy advenurtes :)
