The fact that everyone around her still accepted her despite the mess and damage it created. Depression can really be boiled up inside and only affects the person alone.

Let's start a dialogue: no it's not. Depression also gives one horrible nightmares. It's inauspicious, so many people don't fully understand this dangerous, horrific disease.... Life. Hurts. In so many ways.... Some feel depression so intense, that the only way to get rid of the hurt...is to get rid of the body. But there is a shining light on a long road to coping & recovery.... To all who suffer this dreadful disease -- may the comfort of "hope" pull you through those dark clouds & rain...to see the Sunshine.

There were times where I used sleep as a means of escape before (I didn't have nightmares), but even that didn't bring me any sense of peace or comfort. Like what vigilante said, it's a feeling of emptiness and discontent that just stays with you, killing you slowly and silently with its suffocating abyss and there's no way of getting rid of it. It is something you have to live with, unfortunately, and it makes it hard for people to want to be around you. There are times where it can also get so unbearably heavy and it leads to dangerous thoughts. The only thing you have to do is learn how to manage it, as best as you can ❤

Entire film showcases what depression feels like. Its like your drowning all the time. You are not able to work properly and you always have to put a normal happy face because you know nobody would care. Food is tasteless at a fancy restaurant too. You knw you cant escape that and finally accepting it is the only way. And at last she walks off but rain remains there as if she weighed it all off and left. She left whatever was drowning her all the time. Brilliant idea I would say.

I read that this is about having depression and how it affects everything in your life just like how the rain in the short film affects everything around her. No one is trying to help her because they're not the one suffering and they just don't care the only time they care is whenever she's making a mistake.
@saikoxll4734

I don’t think ppl r ignoring her purposefully, I think the rain is only visible to her specifically just like how depression is in real life, it can go unnoticed.
@issiatan9256
@issiatan9256 2 жыл бұрын
@@saikoxll4734 I thought they knew because of how the boy in the restaurant looked at her, but his mom tapped him on his hand and shake? - her head, and how the waiter placed his hand on her shoulder to maybe asked if she's alright and tried to shake the water off?- of his sleeves after (Sorry for my bad English) so I thought they knew. I also thought that maybe the lady beside her in the bus is aware, because she changed seats and moved to the back of the bus. I also noticed how the rain is getting worse and worse as the video continues. Maybe depression can go unnoticed, but signs/symptoms can't. And I also think that we all have problems in our life that we need to tend to. So, even if we don't admit it, we also sometimes ignore other people's business, situation or condition because we have our own problems to take care of and I think that it's fine. I also want to point out how the kids in the restaurant are obviously looking at her, I think it's because they have lesser things to worry about than adults and that they are more curious about everything around them so they can't ignore things that are new to them. I'm sorry if I used any inappropriate word on my first comment, I do not mean any harm to anyone.

@@issiatan9256 Issia, first of all, your English is fine. Any "errors" were insignificant. Your meaning was clear throughout, and that is what language is for. So Kudos to you! I understand what you mean about some people noticing the rain (or at least the wetness), and I thought it was a flaw in the story. Depression is--in my experience--something that other people mostly can't see. But you made a great point about that "blindness" being at least partly because we are so caught up in our own affairs.

@@issiatan9256 I think those reactions were to symbolize how depression can isolate its victim and affect how ppl see them. Even to this date, there’s still stigma around the mental illness although it’s wayyy much better now. Back then depression was highly looked down on and I think those subtle reactions were to demonstrate that mindset.

This was a masterpiece. I have suffered from depression for over 4 years now, I just started taking antidepressants this summer. This is an actually perfect representation of what depression feels like. The dread when you wake up. The way it affects your everyday life. How people notice but don’t do anything. How you ignore it and just keep going. Even down to the last perfect bit, where you finally realise you can’t block it out, and the only way out is to accept it. This was written by someone who experienced depression. This was beautiful. Thank you.

The only time she is not under the influence of depression is sleep time. As soon as she wakes up, it slowly starts to make itself felt. She does not leave his head at all hours of the day. While others are experiencing spring, the rain only falls on her. Then she realizes that she can only escape from the rain like an umbrella. If there is rain, the whole nature is affected and gets wet. So the umbrella doesn't make much sense either. Real rain teaches her something. Even if you pretend it doesn't exist, that thing exists. If you can take it naturally, if you can say that it's raining and it's normal, you can manage not to be negatively affected.throw the umbrella, but really throw it
