This is an excellent video. I have a variant of Muscular Dystrophy and this video is really helpful.

Another way to get up that I have to use: These techniques in the video won't help me. Most of any of these kind of videos will show people lifting themselves up with their legs. But, you never see one that shows what to do for people who cannot lift themselves up with their legs because of weakness. I cannot use my legs to lift myself up, even by a sturdy object because you're still using your legs and I can't do that. My legs are too weak and I don't have strength in them to use them. So, I have to PULL myself up with my arms. I get in a crawling postion and crawl to a sturdy table or couch or whatever and I put my elbow and forearm on the object and lean on my arm and use it to pull myself up by having to drag one leg up (can't push with the leg, but have to drag it), then that leg (and that position) helps to pull and finally be able to have a little push with the other leg and slowly get into a standing position. It would be good to have videos like that for people who can't push up with their legs, but I can't ever find any. I guess I could make one, lol. Actually, sometimes these videos make it look like they don't really have weakness. I know they're actors and are just trying to show what to do, but it seems people who can push with legs don't really have weakness. Unless they have just a little weakness, which possibly can happen?

I'm the opposite. My legs are stronger than my arms. I have a hard time pulling myself up but can push up with my legs. I have a hard time lifting my legs though, like to get in the car.

This is a good video for muscle weakness. My weakness is a little more advanced now so much of this does not work for me now. But for the beginning of the muscle weakness stages this video has helpful reccomendations.

If there's something like a shopping cart handy, tip it over -- it's pretty stable when it's lying on its side.

Good video for early stages of myositis but not useful in later stages of disease.
