Honestly, this only covers a small part of what it's like to live with OCD, and only touches on a few of my different triggers, but I wanted to help explain the reality of it, rather than give you an in-depth look at what it's like to be me.
Ultimately I'd love for mental health disorders to be treated the same way as physical disorders. You wouldn't tell a man in a wheelchair to just get up and walk, and yet people with depression are often told to just cheer up.
I've been told a few times by different people in my life that I should just 'ignore' my OCD, but what I try to get across in this video is that I can't just ignore it, because it's a part of me.
Thanks very much for taking the time to understand OCD better.
