I had this cancer in my 20s, too (2004). It metastasized to other parts of my neck, and subsequently, I had an 11-hour surgery. Afterward, I had radioactive iodine and then had 2 more doses over the next 3 years. Today everything is (knock on wood) ok and I feel fine. I take a pill every day, but that's it. My scar has since (mostly) faded, and I now see the whole experience as a blessing. When I was diagnosed, I thought I might die, and I was filled with regrets of all the things I hadn't yet done in life. Now, I make sure I do EVERYTHING I ever wanted so that I never feel that way again. Without cancer, I never would have gotten as much out of this life as I have.

true, I've had some truly fucked up side effects and life long calcium problems, 24 tablets a day. Its not unbearable though and things level out a bit and just become a new normal. Worst of all has been the timing, and all the self isolation.

@@southendbusker7534 Why so many pills ? I had a total thyroidectomy 12 yrs ago (papillary, stage 2), and although i'm on an assortment of meds for various reasons, only one is thyroid related (synthroid), and my calcium levels, while not great, dont currently requite OTC (supplementation) or RX intervention. One big help I found is reducing the intake of carbonated bevs that have a lot of phosphoric acid ... excessive phosphorus intake leeches calcium. If you see it, switch to seltzer, or to other bevs that use different acids for tartness (citric, tartaric, malic, lactic, and carbonic are all fine). If you supplement, the type you take is important too ... from memory, I used to take calcium citrate with D3, but I stopped when my bloodwork indicated I should do so. At least 30 mins of real sunshine helps too. Cheers.

It's caused me harm gave false hope. Stage 3 metastatic. This passes me off when Dr's sat that, no cure for me. Not really told much. Started in 2013 and I'm getting weaker. Not sure why just on levo? 2023 I made it 10yrs October 2023. I have a paralyzed vocal cord from golf ball sized tumor. I never felt it the Dr found it when I came in with bronchitis. Hope that helps. Also have BRAFV600E mutation. I'm sure it's why it was so bad in the beginning.

How often do you get body scans? Body scans are mri,or ct scan? I had partial thyroid removal one week ago. My ent, didn't knew it was cancer. After surgery, pathology report confirmed variant papillary cancer. Ent say that for right now,we could leave my other half of my thyroid, and do ultrasounds to see if thyroid cancer comes back. I didn't took radiation liquid. Tumor was 3.9cm size of a golf ball. Should I be concern? I have a 2 year old son,and a 14 year old son. DR say ,not to worried.

I have been diagnosed in the last few days with Papillary Thyroid Cancer. I've been very lost since but got online doing research and looking for inspirational videos like this one. My situation is very complicated as I am 18 weeks pregnant so not only am I worried for myself I am worried for my baby. I've never heard of this kind of cancer before so I was shocked and numb when I was told I had this.

@@cvonpete I'm sorry to hear about your wife. I'm doing OK. I have a paralyzed vocal cord and nerve damage in my face from a neck dissection. I have had 3 neck surgeries and RAI. The cancer is not curable. Where is the isthmus? Is that the organ they try hard to preserve? it has something to do with calcium? Have her get her vitamin D3 levels checked. Mine were very low they check it every 6 months now. I think it may possibly have been part of the cause? I have gotten weaker the past couple year's. Almost 10yrs with metastatic to the lymph nodes with some tall cell and BRAFV600E mutation, that mutates papillary into anaplastic. Prayers for you both. ☺ 🙏

@@craigrik2699 same! I'm 21 years old now (22 in June) and I was diagnosed with thryoid cancer when I was 20 years old. Originally I was supposed to stay overnight however my lymphatic vessel was "inadvertently damaged" during the procedure which meant a 1+ week hospital stay. They tried to stop the leakage caused by my surgery however they could not in the OR so I was sent to IR (Interventional Radiology) where they made a small incision into my stomach and stuck wires leading up to my heart to place a catheter to control the leak behind my heart. Well, another patient was having an emergency medical situation which meant they had to abort my procedure about halfway through 2 1/2 hours later. Good news is, is that the liquid/whatever it was they had injected into the vessel only had a 15-20% chance of working and it did. The leak was managed and no further procedures were needed thank God however I could not eat a single thing for a few days it was pure hell. I never felt such hunger in my life!!😞 Well, that's my story of experience with this and I'm so happy I'm not alone and there are many others who went through the same thing! I now have to take medication every morning fot the rest of my life however it's a rather small price to pay. Never needed radiation or anything however though they did remove 23 of my lymph nodes like you stated. 3 of which were cancerous.

@@shyryTsr2k Hi, got my RI (2400 mq) on Wednesday afternoon. By the morning (and a lot of water drinking) scan (2 per day) I had shed at least 60% of the RI, the physicist said I could look at release from the hospital that afternoon. I didn't, it was still just a wee bit to high however, I did get released the next morning, I was at 590 mq. No issues, the only painful part was the hospital was freezing (we are in Perth, Western Australia), I've caught a cold. I've moved into our masterbed room and my partner has moved into the spare room. The issue is that through my saliva or sweat or urine, some of my radioactive iodine could get into someone else's thyroid and cause damage, through absorbing my bodily fluid. So, I'll be in the masterbed room by myself at least till Wednesday, the wife is enjoying having a bed to herself lol. I go for my PET MIR scan tomorrow, as you know, this will show where any remaining thyroid tissue has taken up the RI, fingers crossed. Take care

I am praying the TKI works it's helped with back pain. The first time I tried it I could not take it more than three weeks so now taking less. I am glad thyroid cancer is slow growing. The part that is getting upsetting is I have to look at assisted living places. For those of you out there most cases have a high cure rate. I had mine for a long time before we found it. I did not have any symptoms till I felt a lump. For six months my regular Drs could not feel it. When I told them I now feel three lumps. We did a ultrasound and biopsy. A month ago, I learned that I have also this papillary thyroid carcinoma 😭 My life's experiences are never easy. Constant breakdowns almost every night, just like now 😢 Thinking about how I could treat this one when I have nothing (finances) to cure my thyroid. Especially now that pandemic and I am a bread winner of our family at the same time supporting my daily needs since I'm working away from my family, it is so difficult not to worry about everything and the only thing I can do is to let my tears fall and tell myself that everything's gonna be alright, even though I know deep in my heart that I am not okay, I'm just pretending all the time that I am strong but, I'm really not 💔 I don't have anyone with me, ever since. I deal with my own problems, not bothering my family so that they will not be worried about me 😢 I entrust every thing in you Lord God. Help me solve this please 😭 Just let me achieve everything I want to give to my parents and family. Give me long enough time to serve you with my life and the people 😭 Your will thy be done oh God 🙏😭❤️

U need to relax it’s thyroid papillary cancer it’s the most non threatening cancer in world 🌎 people live they’re entire life even with the cancer . U worrying to much will lower ur immune system and that makes cancer grow. I beat this cancer after radiation did not work with nutrition and now I’m in remission. Go to Whole Foods and go to the juicing section and tell them to blend u some vegetables and one shot of wheatgrass,do this ever day and u will destroy any cancer . But u need to take away all junk food in ur diet, especially sugar because cancer loves sugar ,if u have any questions I’m free to help u beat this easily.god bless

Make sure u take a b12 and iron supplement to make up for the lack of iron threw animal food.go to the store and buy a juicer machine preferably one that grinds ur vegetables not a metal blade spinning thousand miles per hour killing all ur nutrients and oxygen.best vegetables to juice is red beets ,celery, ginger, tumeric, kale 🥬 spinach, cucumbers 🥒 and make sure ur juicer juices wheatgrass become that superfood is king in killing cancer cells and rebuilding ur red blood cells . You need to eliminate dead food as much as possible and try to eat 80 percent raw!!!! Because cancer will automatically start dying off once it’s in a oxygenated environment, cancer lives in a dead no oxygen environments. Raw food is oxygen, the green pigment in raw green vegetables is pure oxygen. Once ur body is flushed with oxygen, cancer will not survive. A scientist won the novel prize for proving that cancer cannot live in a oxygen environments.second of all add a filter on ur shower head to remove all chlorine and chemicals that will lower ur immunity. Only drink filtered bottle water no sink , don’t even cook ur food with sink water. Stop using all chemicals on ur body . Only buy from Whole Foods what u put on ur body or hair. Don’t forget to buy a bag of wheat grass and juice 1 shot a day will keep the cancer away lol 😆 honestly it’s the cure. It turned out to be a 8 cmx4cmx4cm nodule that encapsulated my left thyroid. I had a 7 needle biopsy that determined it was non cancerous. In late March my Thyroid was removed. After a week I received a call stating I had PTC. Back to surgery at end of June and then a round of iodine radiation. The “C” word is always scary. Prayers and supportive Friends and Family help you get through uncertain times. I run every other day and do weightlifting (4) times a week, I thought I was healthy. It's been 17 years since I had papilary cancer. I have lupus. In 1 month my 3 barely able to feel tumors went to walnut sized in 4 weeks with 7 more small tumors. My symptoms were exhaustion. I found my tumors giving myself a breast exam in the shower. My doctor couldn't feel them but knew from experience that he better check it out. I had my thyroid. Para thyroid and 5 lymph nodes removed. I did the radiun I- 131 and never felt well. Never could balance my thyroid. Synthroid and Armour. I teeter totter.all of a sudden my voice is deep sounding. And my hair is falling out. Lordy I have lots of hair, but at this rate I'm worried. I'm wondering if my cancer is back?. I live in a rural Oregon town . Any reccomending doctors?
