I currently own a Panamera 4 e-hybrid and to me it's the best version of the Panamera. The power is at the sweet spot where you can actually use it and you have no turbo lag. And from a cost perspective compared to the 96k price of the car in the video, for a few thousand more (104k), you get like 90% of the options in the video as standard (still need the rims and rear steering which brings it to 104k). Plus from a power standpoint, the base is 3330hp/331lb which has the turbo lag. In the hybrid you get 462hp/ 516lb all of which is pretty much instant as soon as you get on the pedal. And if you don't need all that power around town, you switch to only using the electric motor and save some gas lol.

As much as I LOVE Porsche, their options pricing is enough to make a person go postal. It's utterly absurd what they charge for the most benign extras.

The sweet spot in this range is the 4S in my opinion. Lighter and more agile than the V8's and electric. The 4S has a twin turbo V6 producing 440HP with 4WD.

Also if you ask Porsche to delete the sunroof they will do, because in Germany it's not standard equipment. You save pounds and get a lower baricenter

The 2021 base model Panamera is now the best version as its only 1815kg (4001lb) as the new 2.9 L V6 twin turbo engine is 14kg (31lbs) lighter than the previous 3L V6 single turbo engine. The new 2.9L V6 has been detuned to 330 HP meaning that its easily upgraded via ECU or race chip to 500 HP. Forget the Panamera hybrid version it adds 350kg (770lbs) in batteries, electric motor and cables, making it use an extra 2 litres/100km in fuel due to the extra weight being lugged around when in ICE mode. The new base model Panamera in Australia now comes as standard with heads up display, Adaptive air suspension including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Power steering Plus and sports steering wheel, Lane Keeping Assist , Soft-close doors, Lane Change Assist. Park assist with surround view and Adaptive cruise control. Radar. The base model handles better than any other Panamera due to it weighing considerably less. No need for any option now besides 20" or 21" wheels.

I currently own a 2010 panamera 4S, love it. After a year of searching, testing, I would never consider anything outside the Porsche family. The combination of luxury, performance, handling and dependability make it an incredible used car option. You may not get to spec it out, but you certainly let someone else pay for all the options. Smiling in KC, I would definitely go for another Panamera. Thank you for all your the great Porsche reviews. I envy your opportunities and look forward to the 2018s to depreciate to my price range.

I actually currently own a Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo. I love this car and I actually am allowed to drive the high Speed on specific public roads. I owned an S 63 S before and as a self Driver I prefer the Porsche. Never mind the S-Class is a gorgeouse car, indeed. It´s better to be driven in as drive it yourself. Aspecially, when you like to go on smaller curvier roads.

I personally will choose the LS500. I believe the LS has the better styling, options, driving dynamics, luxury and brand cachet combined for the segment and MSRP. LS also has the best engine in the segment and for the price.

Crow Killer lol. I know about Porches history and heritage. But you are just being ignorant saying only European automobile manufacturer can build the best automobile. Lexus has build a better luxury ls500 for the price compared to Panamera, That's all I am saying. Plus Lexus has build up pretty amazing reputation for themselves, considering the company is only 30 years old.

Isn't german cars the defention of soulless peaces of machinery? ;) Regarding the drive - it's nothing magic to it. If Lexus wanted they could. But now their into this plushier luxury/GT segment so it's not really gonna happen. But you have the LFA as a little hint :P Even though it was expensive as hell. Actually - I think anyone in the car bussiness could do practically anything. They just need money and someone to buy the product. Except for one thing - Italians and Brits can't build reliable cars. Germans can but they are mostly to ignorant to do it. Porsche, from what I heard, have a very high qualty standard for beeing germans.

I agree with D LG. I owned two Porsches and the ownership experience was great. However other dealerships have caught up (especially if it is the same dealer with a different manufacturer). With Porsche I always felt that it was a honor to be over charged. At first I bought in, now I drive something with very similar performance (if not better) for far less. I am good.

I have a 2020 Panamera 4 (triple black - all blacked out - with all black OEM 21" wheels) and I'm overall pleased with the performance, suspension, and utility of my car. My 911 (997.1 sold during COVID for a profit - and also triple black - but REGRET selling BIGTIME!!!!) was amazing. But the performance and driving is surprisingly similar...but the drive and tech is more refined. Its a gorgeous car to look at and to drive. And I paid 50% of original sticker earlier this year. Yes, it will depreciate - so don't beat me up. But if I wanted a car to appreciate - I would have bought an early 70's Porsche 911 - and couldn't afford that without turning my life into a Dateline episode. So for those looking for Porsche performance and luxury and head-turning - is it the best? Of course, NO - but its a great choice. Quality is outstanding. No issues at all - and I have taken no less than 6 extended roadtrips in the car. Gas mileage is very good. I get in and I have 700+ until empty because of the 23+ gallon tank. Overall - a great value and style for the money! Couple gripes - lack of more USB ports up front, wireless charging capability, and full screen CarPlay. (My car automatically opens with key in pocket.)

I drive a Cayenne GTS which is kinda like that "light" Panamera in the video so if I had to choose I would probably go for it. In all seriousness I wanted to spec my Cayenne this kind of way too. Just checking the options that improve driving and a few quality of life options but not going for the extras. The reason I got the GTS instead was because I didn't want to pay more for less and the GTS has an amazing kit for the price. Oh well.. I will get that barebones driving car someday hopefully.

I just ordered a base Panamera set up like this one with all the handling bits. I did opt for better 21" wheels tho. Was a tough decision not to go with more hp and if there was a RWD S model I'd have gotten it. Thanks for the great video that helped with my decision. I did drive a base and a TT and the base handled more like a long wheelbase 911 to me.

Really confused on who the buyer is for this car ... If you are just checking boxes a Stinger does all this and better for the half the cost. But say you are "brand aware", just get an Audi S7 (same company), you get more performance for about 12k less. While I commend the low down torque, is great for city driving the other numbers seem very bland. Again for the price, I have no idea who would buy an "underpowered Porsche". If you have 93k to spend on car, you probably have 115k etc ..

I would choose Lexus LS500, mainly because I think it excels in the luxury aspect over the Panamera. I also think it looks better because of how dramatically different it is from the rest of the competition. The sporty factor of the Panamera is tempting, but if I wanted a sporty sedan I would go for a GSF or an M5.

That delay drives me crazy. I testdrove both an Audi S5 and RS5 Sportback, which share engines with this car. Disappointment is an understatement. I could not live with that delay on a daily basis. At first I thought it was me and did several long testdrives. It's not me. You roll onto the throttle, nothing happens for 2 seconds. 2 SECONDS. Then wham! Not a great daily IMHO.

My hard working father owns a E-hybride and the everyhing looks fine but there are some problems. There are only 4 seats and not 5 the piano black interior can give you full of scratches and fingerprints and the biggest one is that its suffering from a turbo lag damn. it just a shame he payed it for 150k Euro its alot of euros and especially in Belguim the taxes and insurgance are massive high if you are not leasing it. Sir! While I appreciate the feedback and take by your comment and your YT Channel name, post production and/or music is your thing, the reality is this: The economics of KZbin do not support what you are asking. Most who watch this show agree, it is very high quality from a production standpoint - higher than most on this platform. If you were to put some 'thought' into these things, you would see what is successful on KZbin is low quality and HIGH volume. What you are asking for would only add to the post production process that is not supported financially by the views from this platform. You may not feel we have put thought into this process, however there are many items beyond audio that we would love to do but we are no longer willing to do only to be buried by a punishing algorithm. If the audio is that much of a problem, totally understand you watching elsewhere . . .
@mainlymusicman

@@MotoManTV actually you have actually already achieved the hardest part - capturing good quality audio. what I'm suggesting, your video editing application is most likely already capable of doing. not sure which software you use.. adobe premiere? etc. simply drop a compressor effect onto the file timeline and boom! everything is at HIGH volume.

Understand why you asked this. For less than a comparably equipped Panny S, The M5 spanks it on every department. It’s got similar sized interior space (really) a LOT more power, equal if not better handling, much higher level of features, etc. Porsche markets the Panamera as a competitor to the 7 and S, but interior space is more like that of the 5 and E. But the pricing is like the 7. No bueno. Plus the car is HUGE.

I had the use of a $96,000 “base” Panamera while my P car was in for routine maintenance. I was shocked to see the window sticker. The overall car was OK, but the the materials , fit and finish weren’t worthy of a $100,000 automobile. The engine was somewhat responsive but suffered from immense turbo lag under hard initial acceleration. My other car is a well equipped Mercedes C63s. Although not quite as spacious, it’s better than the Panamera in almost every category. Given the choice of any number of luxury German sedans, I would always choose Mercedes; they understand the language of luxury appointments and comfort at a higher level than most manufacturers.

Perhaps, but comparing it to other cars like the XJ or LS, you realize that when it comes to sedans, there are some awfully good choices. And I'm not the first person to observe that the Panamera is a car that struggles to prove it's price tag.

I don't expect to persuade you. You clearly love Porsche. That's fine, but I drove these cars and compared. I didn't see where the price premium was delivered.

I understand.. Interesting that I have heard and read from many sources (here included) just the opposite.. That the Panamera is superior in ways that matter to many buyers.. I did recently drive a Jag and thought it was nice.. But kind of soft, rather boring to drive and the materials did not look to me like they would stand the test of time.. I guess I prefer the german build better.
