Living Big In A Tiny House

Living Big In A Tiny House

Жыл бұрын

In many ways, building a home is like crafting a new member of your family. It’s something that has it’s own personality and supports you through the challenges of life. That’s exactly the remarkable design approach that Sarah and Clay took with their stunning Tiny House on wheels.
During the long lockdowns, the couple had an opportunity to evaluate their lives and decided they no longer wanted to be in the city paying high rent without security and loved the idea of having a place to call their own. A tiny house was the perfect solution.
A good tiny house reflects the lifestyle and personality of those who will occupy it. It’s a place that you construct to contain your hopes and dreams while providing shelter from storms, both physical and metaphorical.
From the moment Sarah and Clay began to draw out their tiny house dreams on paper, they have carried themselves into the process and the resulting home is a place they can be immensely proud to call home sweet tiny home.
We hope you enjoy the tour of this beautiful house. To follow Sarah and Clay’s tiny house adventures, you can follow them on Instagram: / thetinybrownhouse

There are so many amazing homes that you feature, but only a few really speak to me like this one. In this one I think it's the bathroom and kitchen, particularly, but also the location. Still the best channel for inspiration for living big but with less and in smaller homes.

Although I like all the tiny homes you show, I note that most of them are on land owned by parents or family. A few rent their land. It is still hard to see where people can place their homes if they are not lucky enough to have parents or family who own land they can be on. A lot of people could manage the finances of building a tiny home, but with no land to put it on they fall away from what is one of the best movements going forward.

My parents worked like dogs at high-risk jobs for decades. I worked 12-16 hour days myself. Who else am I going to leave my money or things to? I invested in land at an early age and did without a lot of preppy junk. The waste of modern parents blows my mind. I'm thrilled that I have something to pass on to future generations of my family and their kids, but do no doubt that my parents and myself worked our butts off for some very long hours. We were not rich people with money to throw around. The land gift is truly an achievement.

Lovely home and couple. Bryce, might you consider doing a vid that acknowledges the privilege attached to so many of these videos where family wealth is the backdrop for the opportunity to "live within our means" on an expansive property with gorgeous views and the ability to spread out? From a non defensive stance of recognizing that this is a complicated and real element to this tiny house movement?

True. The solution about the land that i can think about is buying or co owning land with several people/families who want to build tiny houses too. Basically building tiny house community or something like that.

exactly right. the tiny house movement has done a 180 from what it started out as, meaning only bougie people with family land and dad carpenters etc can afford them. they were supposed to represent a simpler way of living on less, but that's not who can have them. also, councils in australia aren't on board with them by and large which makes it nearly impossible to do.

@@natashaa43 Well, blaming history is a common mistake. What can be done? Do you think it wise? History of human kind is a history of conquests, migrations and changes... Should Americans leave the US now? And moving vackwards...Are English indigenous in England? Try to reverse William the Conqueror deeds... Are Arabs indigenous in Egypt and all the Maghreb? No. Should they leave because they conquered the land in the Middle Ages? Better still, should Greeks leave Greece, because they have settled there in the antiquity dominating over indegenous people around 3000 BCE... Iam evoking the absurd in order to make a point here: some things from the past cannot be changed. Human nature is what it is. Some historical events are regrettable, yet our duty is ro move on. Learn our lessons from the past. Avoid the mistakes. But also undertand and respect Of course we can judge the history. It is our right. We can try to fix the injustice, but we cannot reverse time. Your comment is pointless. Also you shame and attribute guilt where you shouldn't. Revisionism is sometimes far worse than fascism

As much as I personally am not a fan of tiny house staircases because of the reduction in livable space they cause, I absolutely love theirs and how they utilized it within their beautiful tiny and if I could figure out a way to make a staircase for my future tiny that doesn’t take up any usable space I probably would just to make it easier on my knees/body in the future, especially at night, this was really well done! They have a lot of similar features I’m going to have in my tiny as well in a similar sized foundation/trailer/frame so it was really nice to see those in action for inspiration. Great tiny 🙂.
