This is common in greece and with other cities, to expand and become one with closer villages, small cities etc due to density of the place. Greece also has been a place that many immigrants have flee. Older by albania, bulgaria, romania etc, later by syria, pakistan, iraq, lybia and africa etc. For example those black guys you see in video are probably not in official population numbers. I'm curious how much has changed since I went in 2011. I loved everything about Greece, Athens being my least favourite part. Loved the Argolid, Elis and Olympia, Thessaly, Delphi, and of course the islands including Crete and Rhodes. The weather, scenery, history, food, and people, couldn't have really asked for better from any of them. I don't remember any junk peddlers either, aggressive or otherwise. Istanbul though...

its also not a lie that ourseves dont even go to the ''attractions'' , at least not often cause of the enterance fee being so freaking expensive we hate our lives too , its not our fault for the bad treatment of the tourists , our lives have been cut in half put together and have been cut again from those above us , they need to get it together and fix everything without breaking it again

For the love of god, if you are not interested in museums, clubs and sights that will make you broke the first two days, don't go to a big city. Especially Athens. Instead pick a nice and quiet town or even a village. The food, the hospitality and every good memory you make along the way will make you fall in love with the place and want to come back. 😁

@@nikolasgel3830 North Macedonia
@ub3rfr3nzy943 жыл бұрын
@@randomnoliferedditer7017 N.Macedonia is just a region of Bulgaria that was conquered by the Serbians. The communist regime taught them they were the true original Macedonians, this was because Tito had ambitions to take Macedonia from Greece so he had access to the Aegean. Of course, this never happened but the years of mental conditional had it's affect on the population. The region of North Macedonia was never part of actual Macedonia. During the Roman empire, the region of Macedonia was expanded with lands to the north being added to it after Roman conquests. But yeah, their country borders Macedonia but it was never actually inhabited really by the ancient Macedonians, that is why they lack all the greek ruins and the ones they do have come from a later period. The only part of North Macedonia that had Greeks living in it was the very south part on the border near that lake I don't remember the name of. Until the Balkan wars that area was inhabited by 200,000 Greeks anyway but the Bulgarians expelled them. That is why to this day many North Macedonians have Greek ancestry, the slavs there mixed with the Greeks that lived there in the Roman times. But it was never part of ancient Macedonia, only Roman Macedonia. Sorry for the long explanation.

There is also a city called Alexandroupoli but it doesn't have big lore really, most of the great anime characters from ancient greece came from either Athens or Macedonia or Sparta or any other place away from the North.

These trees that look like orange trees and are all around in the city of Athens (my city) are actually NOT orange trees. We call them "nerantzia". It look like orange but it tastes awful. Some old ladies use it for spoon syrop sweet. Otherwise is useless and that is the reason nobody harvest nerantzia from these trees.
