For many Türks in Türkiye Shqiperia is known as if a part of Türk nation. Many Türks used to live there and many Albanians also immigrated and get married with Türks. Thats why when Türks see Albania they usually act it is one of Türk origin countries, with sympathy. Same with Bosna-Hersek. Bosna i Hercegovina. Half of the population in Türkish republic is from Balkans actually (and this doesnt even include so called converted peoples but actual Oğuz Türks who used to call Balkans their home) ; including (with Turkish names) Bulgaristan, Makedonya, Yunanistan, Karadağ, Romanya and more. One side of my family is from Eski Zağra (Bulgaria), some part also related to Arnavutluk (Shqiperia) and the other side from Hatay province of Türkiye. Center of Ottoman empire was literally Trakya region and the Balkans. TRAL

Should've definitely visited Kadıköy historically or mythologically even knows as (Khalkhedon) . It was the first human settlement in what is now Istanbul. As the story goes Khalkhedon means the land of the blind. As the person who founded Byzantium was told to leave these blind people and go and start a village in what later became Byzantium and what is now knows as the Fatih district of Istanbul. What sets Kadıköy a part from the rest of Istanbul is that despite being the oldest human settlement in Istanbul it's considered quite new and more modern in comparison to the rest of Istanbul. You may even call it the new version of Beşiktaş, or Taksim. It's honestly the most chill and colorful place in Istanbul, hippie culture. Rockers and metalheads. Communist and feminist posters on the wall. I've even spotted an LGBT flag on a balcony of an apartment there. Truly colorful and considered the safest place to go for late night partying. I was constantly told to be careful in Taksim or Beşiktaş and to keep my head low. But in Kadıköy I was told it's fine. Kadıköy is also possibly the most English friendly district in Istanbul overall. You'd be surprised how many people will just suddenly switch to really decent English once they realize you're a foreigner. It's like a 30% chance really. And depends if you're talking to a local or just a visitor from another part of Istanbul. If there's a place to live in Istanbul, it's definitely Kadıköy if you value that sense of liberal lifestyle where everyone is less afraid to express themselves.

@@tim.iteland.9447 more foreigners are discovering beautiful datca peninsula like Turkish people as well in the recent years. Yes it’s quaint, picturesque and very cheap to live in, except the housing cost of course 😅 I had a Canadian renter. He stayed for the winter and he will be back next year again. To stay permanently this time he says. According to him, Datça is the best location in Europe, due to the regulations and convenience. He was riding his bike around the peninsula almost everyday. It’s been 3 years I’ve been living here and nothing bothers me as well. Way better than big cities. Some people prefer Greek islands but this place has more to offer I believe. Unfortunately Greek islands are so boring to me. I have almost no intention to visit there. My apartment faces to the Symi, and gosh the entire islands look like a pile of sand 😩 I love Datça, it’s greener, flora is different year round, and most importantly delivery time is ok. You order any appliances, electronics or clothes, and it just take a few days to get here. I’m missing big cities just for a few social attractions nothing more

@@hakansaribal5093 marmaris is not that far or the bodrum ferry if you need a slice of city life for a few days . I used to work Repairing Mehmet Karolglu's Gulet in Datca and Kargi Koyu . I would of loved to visit this summer but flights from Zagreb to bodrum cost more than a package holiday including flights from the UK . but yes I miss Datca , Palamutbuku, Bozborun, Turunc . Enjoy your summer my friend (:

I regret to say that Istanbul has become uninhabitable. It is just an ideal city for tourism. Istanbul was captured by the Turks, but occupied by the Kurds and Arabs through immigration. We all know what the peoples of the Middle East do to the places they go. Turks are looking for ways to escape from Istanbul. I'm afraid the city will be left to the Kurds and Arabs. Sometimes I wish our ancestors hadn't spread to the Middle East.

Just visited 2 months ago, didn’t saw many arabs as there are already so many foreign tourist, people were nice, warm and beautiful. You either don’t know your city’s value or you don’t even live there (broke cause you’re not oil rich arab) or just hating arabs for your political reason in a cringe way

Lmao turks aren't european though they came all the way from middle asia and immigrated and expanded slowly through the middle east and anatolia. Turks lived for generations in the middle east decades or even centuries before they had any European borders.
@turkcukayi2 жыл бұрын
@@yavuzsyurdakul Europeans are not really Europeans, my friend. With the immigration of tribes, they migrated to Europe later. They just migrated a little earlier than us. The Türks, on the other hand, ruled about half of Europe for hundreds of years.

@@turkcukayi Yes but regarding your original comment, Turks couldn’t have gotten to Europe without going through the Middle East, therefore hour logic is inherently flawed and kinda racist. Plus, Turkish culture has been much more influenced by middle eastern culture than European culture.

@@yavuzsyurdakul Turks didn't lived in middle east for decades. Ottoman empire is conquered the most places in middle east,but people who lived here wasn't turkish.

I'm a Greek-Turk mix, and I work as a tour guide. I meet mainland Greeks all the time and also meet a lot of fellow Turks, either yatch crew or hotel personnels. They don't think the way you do. They travel, and try to get to know each other. Once they do, they begin to live 6 months in Greece and 6 months in Turkiye, like me. I love both my people and countries. We're literally the best when we're duo.
