Almost every Spring we go to Florida to snorkel and kayak the big freshwater springs. We really like Salt Springs Campground because of the full hookups and it's a GREAT base of operations for visiting a number of other springs and spring runs in that part of Florida.

I was just there in March...swam with 4 manatee just outside the rope at the springs...4 separate boils coming from beneath the crevices are at least 25' deep..one of my favorite springs in Florida

Wonderful video Lou.....once again !! Your videos NEVER disappoint !! Wow, such beautiful tree's with the moss hanging off of them. One of my favorite things ! Your videos are so enjoyable and you give just the perfect timing on the info and pictures on each subject you are filming. It never get's boring !! Cool, seeing that crab. lol, now is he in the waters where you are swimming ? lol oooo k then, I just have to keep my eyes looking around, so I dont get "pinched" by one, if I get to swim there !! 😂 Campground is very nice. Restrooms are very clean looking. There are alot of nice site's you showed us! Thank you, for sharing this video !!! vicky

I don’t see any bad campsites 😂. But pine trees are annoying. Nice place. I’ve been planning a trip to that area and hitting a lot of springs to swim in. This one looks nice too 👍🏼

Thank You so much for doing these videos, Lou-especially the campsite recommendations! On the website for Salt Springs, it indicated many sites were first come, first serve; I was just wondering if this video was recent, as in terms of this past Winter, (Jan., Feb., March); also assuming this was an early part of the week when you were there. Very beautiful place! Impressive there are so many padded, full hook up sites too! Once again, Thank You for sharing this with all of us! All the Best! ~Lou

Salt Spring Campground was originally a private campground. Florida is constantly buying up the larger springs when they become available, and this is how it became public. In this case, the property transferred to Ocala National Forest site, so if you're a holder of a federal Lifetime Senior Citizen pass, you save a lot on the camping fees.

Great video as always. I went online to Reserve America to see the prices and they are not exactly what I would describe as inexpensive. $70 plus a night. I looks like a great place to camp but...

Recreation.gov is the official website. There is a camping discount with a Senior or Access federal recreation pass. Lou
