Go to bit.ly/36nGcPh to check out the Brother ScanNCut DX SDX85!
As we are wrapping up Holly's house, videos are getting back to more minimal and singular focused project tutorials. With so many of you new here and interested in woodworking, I figured this was the perfect first step to possible picking up a power tool. Love you guys!
Thank you ‪@BrotherCraftsUSA‬ for sponsoring this video. #BrotherCraftsUSA #BrotherCraftsUSAPartner

Door is thrifted from Simi Valley Habitat for Humanity
Barn door hardware: amzn.to/2GSpyib
Door handle was an old cabinet pull and two left over RANDOM pieces I found in my workshop
Paint is a flat sheen "Ultra Pure White" by Behr - it's the gallon you can pick up from Home Depot on the aisle and not have to wait for it to be mixed.
Wood slats for design are in the "trim" section in Home Depot prepackage - not with the loose stuff! Will update when I find link.

As we are coming to a close on Holly's home, videos are going back to more minimal and singular focused tutorials. I am insanely excited about my next chapter and cannot wait to share the surprise with you all! Until then ...I am hoping that some beginner woodworking projects and basic home improvement videos that ANY level DIY'er can do will be something you all are loving in the meantime until I can announce xx.

Any kind of tutorial would be most welcome as my common sense often seems to go off for a wander on it's own😊 Having said that, I did spot the looming problemo with the wheels before you- i'm just sorry I didn't shout at the screen in time to save you from needing to move the rail! 😂😂😂🇬🇧

My DIY steps 1. Full steam ahead! 2. Inevitable mistake 3. Try to fix it with brute force 4. Whoops theres a massive hole in the wall 5. Don't fix the hole for a very long time 6. Repeat the process with another DIY until your house looks like a slice of swiss cheese Its gotten me this far *shrug*

I'm hoping to add a barn style door here at home but need the version that hangs from the ceiling, but you still gave me great ideas to move forward with it all. And thank you again for being you and being so real. Because things like this do happen to professionals, they just don't show us that part. So when WE do it and "f" it up, we feel EVEN more like beginners. At least with you, we're all on the same journey learning from one another, like buds. So thanks!

I love how you guys work togethwr to fux disaster abd save materials ...and make from it fun time.....this is a gem to have friends who lift you up no matter what and stay collected and helpfull in stressfull times.....if you get tired easily on minor tasksmake every 40 - 45 min small breack for drink and rest and look for green spaces instead of walls and dust ..it will reset your brain . If you want remeber about something in particular part of project write this on red stickers with black pen and stick on wall or doors and make picture on your phone stickers ...that what ido when i need go to diy store ..i do not know all english names for tools so i google it before go there and make pictures so i have exactly what i want not a vertion of what i need ... Its so much easier if you have friends help who know what they doing and saving you time not just hung around and leaving fingerprint all over place hahaha.

Your door turned out really pretty and I appreciate that you show the ups and downs. We've all been there! Just a note- when transferring vinyl, you want to use transfer tape or contact paper so it holds everything and the insides of letters. Then you can stick your vinyl down and remove the transfer tape to then use your stencil. I enjoy your builds.

I just saw someone beat me to the tip, I had trouble figuring it out at first but what I found helped me was thicker rubber bands and then I stretch them over the screw, then jam the drill in to “meet” the screw in a perfect fit but you have to keep it tight otherwise it won’t grip. Hopefully that helps.

I took my barn door from my old place and put it into my new place. I did a video of it the first time I attempted to hang it by myself of course I had to have help to lift it onto the track but I put more holes in my wall. This time I added the mounting board to the studs, it was a nightmare but we finally got it done had to take it down a couple of times for height adjustment because I think I know everything even though my husband tried to tell me. The final door is on my pdubstuff channel. I also purchased the door from the habitat restore in Torrance California for $35 it was a heavy door.

You are such a badass!! This came out amazing. P.S. I had no idea wood was so temperamental with moisture! Watching your old fireplace makeover and now this was so informative.

I'm in the process of hanging a barn door as well and defs know the struggle! I cheated a bit and bought a door and track kit so only thing I needed to figure out was the wood for the track haha

Fill the hole with a piece of wood and wood wedges and then fill in the rest of it with putty I think that might be the best way to get rid of that hole.

Yeah Kid, super cool. I really thought door was heading off the track when you didn't have the stopper in place. RESPECT for always showing your mistakes during your process. Now, off project related, how do you like your Jeep Gladiator?? Really looking at one. Reviews are kinda mixed about them. Hoping all is well SuperCat Dirty Jersey out!!
