I have had the same ideology but my truth is that God convicts me which in turn is his love for me in a real personal way, like a son to a father. The human experience is more than thought of the experience happening but the control we actually have over our life to give it to God or let our “goodness” control us. Whats better God or goodness? The word according to merriam webster goodness says to be in a state of good. The word state means to be in a condition; conditional goodness would be horrible if everybody’s definition of good was ultimately good. Good is not a feeling of it but the SUSTAINED state of goodness which comes through God; found through our acceptance of what Jesus Christ did;and repentance for our aforementioned belief that our goodness is good enough. Every religion says there good but what’s good about a self proclaimed goodness it does no profit for people to believe in a conditional good when literally anything can be conditioned to be good just like bad kids when a guest comes over the house. You still love your kid but the parent is the moral provider for the family not the kids idea of being a “good boy” “girl”. We fool ourself believing empty logic. We’re smarter than we give off we just think people don’t catch on.

What I hear you saying is you speak of christianity like its some kind of club a person joins..or a pill you swallow..and when you say your prayer just right with some religious sounding words God appears.."things" begin to happen...and this somehow verifies what you've done and validates "Christianity". It does neither. Religion is mans way to reach God. Christianity is God's way to reach man. Christianity is a relationship with God. Sometimes that relationship does start off in unmistakable and physical ways that the person experiences but more often than not "nothing" happens - at least nothing in the way of physical manifestations. Write this down on a sticky note and place it where it can serve to remind you that your salvation thru the death and resurrection of Jesus is a "FACT" not a "FEELING". You want physical "feelings" to go with your physical prayers but your salvation is spiritual. You're waiting for something to happen to your physical mind and body..but your physical mind and body is not what Jesus came to save. He came to save your soul which the bible tells us was d-e-a-d. It was never "alive". Jesus said it needed to be born again. Only He can provide that. A new body comes later but for now He promises that your name will be written in the Lambs book of LIFE. He promises once this physical life is over you will join Him in heaven. If His actions on that cross and words of promise towards you are not enough proof for you then what would be? A new car? A bag of cash? A big screen tv? Fame & fortune? There were people who witnessed Jesus' miracles..looked directly into His eyes...ate the fish and bread He provided...saw blind people get their vision...heal the deaf..take leprosy away..raise a dead man....and just a few months later scream out - CRUCIFY HIM! Why? Because when He didn't do another miracle or give them the "feeling" they wanted they had no more use for Him. They called Him a fraud. A liar. And they turned their backs on Him. Are you one of those people? You prayed the prayer and said the words but a relationship that lasts thru an etetnity deserves more than the 5 minutes you gave Him. No?

agnosticism isn't a religion... a means not and gnostic means knowledge or knowing... so not knowing. But you can't JUST be agnostic. If someone asks you do you believe in God? and you say "I don't know". Thats not answering the question. If you say "I don't believe in one but there could be" then you'd be an agnostic atheist. If on the other hand you say "I know for a fact there is NOT a god you'd be a gnostic atheist". The same goes for theism. A gnostic theist is certain of gods existence. And an agnostic theist simply believes but isnt certain. I think many people that refer to themselves as agnostic either don't know what it really means or have a hard time calling themselves atheist. A lot of people think it's a philosophy or religion But it's simply not believing in a god. No more no less.

Hi friend, if you don't mind me asking, is it that you believe in God but because of the many different religions, you are unsure which is the right God?
@therealblackout36594 жыл бұрын
@@racpatrice Exactly! I'm pretty certain there's a source/God/Gods behind the existence of life. A "God of humans" or "God of life" maybe even a "God of all things". I believe the information necessary to build our intelligent existence (DNA) could not have randomly occured from nowhere. A book doesn't write itself, as they say. I come from a Christian background and like/prefer the idea that Jesus is God because I think he'd make a good God. I like his story, the story of hope and victory (at least for a few). I don't mind "Hell" so much, but I did have to get over being angry about a God's potential condemnation. If he/she/it/they (i will just use he/his from now on for sake of ease and tradition) is our god, how can we argue with his reality? Its futile, so, we should just accept our God whether he is a loving father, or a vicious hungry ball of tentacles. Yes, plurality caused my division with my first belief system (Christianity). Though I sought to "disprove" Christianity, I never could. Scientific problems in the bible (like noah's ark and the age of creation to name just a few) began as issues, but fell away. I accepted the power of the potential metaphor of things like that in the bible. I could still see the potential legitmacy of Jesus as God through those potential "errors" (for lack of a better term). But still the silence stoked the fires of my doubt. Our God is a quiet God. Maybe he's asleep, or somehow disconnected, or on vacation, or too mighty to show himself because he may rip reality apart. Haha, whatever the case he's quiet, and so all we have to confirm his actual identity is faith. Our God gave us our physical senses to discern truth. Why then would we need to ignore them or bypass them to discern the truth of God? I understand I'm just a man and that my evaluation or estimation of what a God should be or do is probably fundemntally flawed. But still, it's all that I am and the best I can do. Everything I've ever learned has been with these senses "God" gave me. And, though we all detect that "inner sense" or "spiritual sense" (sixth sense if you will) that's never been used to verify truth. It's too.. Personal.. We've all seen people believe anything they want using that "spiritual sense". There's just no way to objectively identify that senses data as "truth". What I am left with then is to believe whatever makes me feel comfortable because God himself isn't verifiable. For now I still pray to Jesus/YHWH/creator of humaity because I don't know who else to pray to other than "God". But, that's not a name it's a title, and it's fairly young in its implementation so, I feel it dosent actually address the "person" of God. My prayers are always a little appologetic, in acknowledgment of the fact that I may be missnaming our God. But, he never corrects me.. Lol.. All in all, I feel like it's dishonest to declare myself a Christian. I wouldn't reccomened the religion to anyone else in my current condition, and I certainly don't practice it in any significant way. If I end up in a place like Hell I sincerly hope that I will respect our gods decision to place me there and that he will at least acknowledge that I lived by what I knew was true. Even if it costs me an eternity of suffering..
@racpatrice4 жыл бұрын
@@therealblackout3659 Hi, the fact that you are here on Ray's videos tells me that deep down you are searching for truth. Living Waters has a video called "scientific facts from the bible", so this should help you where believing the authenticity of the God of the Bible goes. I understand your confusion, though I have never doubted that God (Yahweh) was ever the real God, I have in the past (when I was backslidden) questioned why there was so much pain and suffering if God loves us so much and why we would go to hell for eternity if we don't do things His way. I'll tell you a testimony of mine to help you see why I never doubted the God of the bible as the true God.: When I was 14 years old, i used to pray alot. I would always pray everytime my parents left the house, asking God to protect them etc. One day, my father left home to hang out with some friends and God spoke to me AUDIBLY and TOLD ME TO PRAY. I knew immediately He meant for me to pray for my father. It turns out, that same night, my father got into a really bad car accident and should have died (he said so himself) but walked out without any injuries. 🙏🙌. Praises be to God and the power of prayer. I have many testimonies but I decided to share that one with you to show you, yes the God of the bible speaks and is the real God. He doesn't always speak audibly but He does speak. Most often through His Word and through the Holy Spirit. Christianity is a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We must be Born-Again by the Spirit of God, repent of our sins and have a supernaturally changed life through the help of the bible and the Holy Spirit. Because of our relationship with God through the born again experience, we no longer have the desire to sin because God gives us a new nature which seeks to please Him. I suspect that what you were introduced to was religion and not true Christianity. Here are a couple books that can help you on your search for truth: 1. "The Case for Christ" - Lee Strobel 2. "What really is Christianity?"- Austin Debourg They are both available on Amazon & Amazon Kindle I hope this helps. God truly does love you dear one. The bible teaches us if we seek, we shall find..Ask God the next time you pray, to reveal truth to you.
@therealblackout36594 жыл бұрын
@@racpatrice Thank you sincerely. I'm touched by your concern. I'm familiar with Stroble and love his work. I'm also a big fan of (some of these may be misspelled) Ravi Zacharias, Chuck Missler, and Kent Hovind. Poor Kent got busted for tax evasion, but I still think he's an ok resource for would-be Christians. I've dabbled in Christian history touching on authors like (again forgive my spelling) Kikergaard, C.S. Lewis, and Kant. I've read the entire bible once and the gospels a few times, at least three. I spent a decade of my life scouring Christianity in both theological and heretical studies. I try to stay "open" but having no foundation will make you crazy, so over time some ideals become entrenched. He spoke to you. That's something awesome, he's never spoken to me. He seems to have answered my prayers, and praying makes me feel better. It feels good to pray, that's why I still do it. I "feel" like he's listening.. That's all I can say. Yet, I also spent several years not praying and everything worked out just the same.Everything changed though when I realized something one day. Would God speaking to me, audibly speaking to me, be enough? If not. What level of miracle would it require for me to instantly believe and follow with everything? I realized that no miracle would be sufficient because my rational mind would always seek to fit it into the rules of reality. I would literally talk myself out of believing this thing, whatever it was. It was then I realized what a pickle I was in. Afterward I began to pray to him to make me believe. I gave him permission to change me, to erase what was blocking my belief. That went on for a few years, but alas, earwax (as dumbledor would say). So, I sought to believe through philosophical and scientific cross examination. Historical evidence, one of my favorites is this dude that does a "cold case" study of Christianity. That one was great. I found all the reasons why everyone else throughout history believed, and none of them seemed to apply to me. Lol. Brutal. So, I decided the best course of action was to be honest with myself and everyone else. To be brave enough to stare down the gates of Hell for the truth. And finally, hope that the God of truth would honor me for that. I'm more impressed by your concern than your advice. I always appreciate meeting someone who tries to walk the walk. Never give up on it. My fiance is a true believer. She says she can't not believe, and, I love that. I feel like true Christians can make this world a better place. The current church is kinda.. Lost though.. Can't say they are too impressive right now. But, if the bible is the truth, it will all work out in the end! Right? Hehe.

You can reject such a light, and think your understanding is better than God's word, but we don't say this to condemn people, we show them this to show that God has a disdain for such actions as we already know to be wrong, and will punish them for wilfully committing those evils, because He is a just God. His love is sure, and that's why we have the chance to repent, and trust in the Savior He sent to us. Depends. Hebrews states, “It is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, and have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, if they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God: But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.” So it seems that stony ground believers who fall away into unbelief/rejection of Christ cannot be renewed to repentance, but are lost reprobates, sadly.
