Getting better with every video. I've used EBC brakes on tuned Minis and my old Rover SD1. They worked really well. The Mini would almost stand on it's nose. Good choice.

Hi Adam and it looks great and cool at the same time.Like the yellow brake pads and its only a pitty that it is hidden behind the caliper and wheel.Am glad with you for your heated workshop and better working environment. Stay safe and have a blessed day.

Nice job! It also reminds me that I need to re-adjust my new front wheel bearings on my XJ40.

That’s how I was taught to grease a bearing.I cannot believe the number of people who just put dollops of grease on the outside of the roller,and then fill the cap full.

Great looking brakes. The yellow pads are a good idea for the Jags heavy weight. I'll have to check their web site to see if they have a kit for the XJ6/XJ12. Congrats on the heat for the shop. Cheers.

Shop heat for the WIN! The heat pump is barely audible with the camera mic. Can't hear it on your close up mic. Thanks for the explanations of why the Yellow pads and for the bearing pre-load.

im using EBC for a decade, or maybe longer, on my Saab 9-5 with yellow stuff pads and GD discs. Breaking here in the almost steep mountains feels shorter and stronger with this brakes.

adam on my x300 i have so0me castleated lock washers that fit between split pin and main spindle nut to prevent nut turning .i would have thought the xjs would also use these ,incidently my cortina mk1 also had them

Looking good Adam. Possibly a controversial opinion here but I think Greenstuff pads are really poor. They don't perform any better than proper OEM pads in the vehicles I have tried them in, but they do have a habit of cracking and breaking up / disintegrating. I have round Redstuff is fine. I've never tried Yellowstuff so I'd be interested to hear your longer term view on them after driving with them for a while. In the mean time, good decision avoiding Greenstuff in my personal view.

Great brakes. Congratulations on the HEAT! Will you keep it on even when you’re not working in the shop or shut if off? I’m jealous as my workshop garage is cold as Antarctica without any heat.

Thank you! I’ll lower the temperature a bit when I’m not there and raise it an hour before I plan to work.

Can you do rear brakes on the xjs ? The discs/ pads are not behind the wheel looks weird
@LivingWithAClassic2 жыл бұрын
They are inboard. Yes I will remove the IRS and rebuild it when the car is back from the body shop
@icsamerica2 жыл бұрын
EBC Red would have been better. Yellows are for the track where braking is not intensive.
