Big Changes! The 2025 Grech Strada ion AWD Unveiled

We took delivery of our 2025 Strada Ion RWD in silver with white upholstery from Campers Inn RV of Leesburg, FL, on December 26th. Our first trip of any distance will be next week to Jacksonville. We’ll be staying three nights at Pelican Roost Family Campground on Mayport Naval Station, our favorite military campground. We have been following you two for a few years now and finally pulled the trigger on the Grech Strada Ion. We traded in our 2018 Tiffin Allegro RED 33AA rear engine diesel pusher, which we owned for seven years.

Thank you. I greatly appreciate the timing. We originally booked with this Padre Island KOA after Christmas, but the traffic was so bad I actually considered staying where you camped in Grapevine. We again stayed at the “Fun Town Rv” park on New Year’s Eve at Winstar Casino, and I rescheduled the KOA for Martin Luther King Jr. extended weekend (hopefully less traffic, and less snow than the North Dallas area).

I can’t believe it took Grech that long for the review mirror camera. We have one that came on our 2023 Coachmen Nova that we bought in October 2022. It’s one of the features I love most, since I do all the driving.

@annekruszka8441 that is a Mercedes feature not a Grech feature added. So once Mercedes added the feature to their Sprinter vans, all manufacturers (like Grech RV) that use the Mercedes Sprinter, now have that feature.

@@LivinRVisionthat’s right as it is a Ram Promaster feature. I love that I can see all across the highway when driving. On that smart plug, I wonder why more manufacturers don’t use it. Our light on ours went out recently and since we keep it plugged in when not using it, haven’t been able to get it swapped out yet. In our seven years of rv-ing we’ve only had one bad experience with power poles, but we are sometimes! Happy and safe travels.

I never would have known about Grech had it not been for you. I have watched your channel since the Class A days. This new Grech is the best I have seen. The AWD and the white color are my favorites. I love that blue upholstery. Good choice. I agree with Michele about the counter top. lighter is better. Sometimes small changes make big differences...like the smart plug. I think Grech out did themselves on this model.

Love that you are back in the white van, but not sure about the dark interior it just seems to make it look more cramped. I love the rear view mirror. Ok wait the back is lighter, well that is much better. I have been in that exact model for 2024 and the luxury is evident. The quality of workmanship is incredible. The price reflects this. But i guess you get what you pay for. We are looking at the Pleasure Way on tour 2.2 which is also very luxurious and well made. Beautiful blessed travels for you two.

I’m always interested to see the changes that Gretch makes. I went to a small RV show once soon after one of your introductory videos. I knew about a new feature that the salesperson didn’t. To be fair, the show was one dealer that brought RVs to our small rural city. They have many different brands. Not just Gretch.

Love the Grech, but unfortunately, I am height challenged at 6'3", so a bit short on the headroom. The only van that fits me is the Ford Transit. I have checked Grech out at our local dealer and the quality is evident. Only other van that comes close is the Pleasure Way. Cannot wait to watch your travels in the new van.

Welcome to our channel! Sounds like you are new here. We have been traveling with just the van as our only vehicle for the last 3 years of our 6 years full time.

Beautiful rig, especially if you can afford it. We have a 2016 Airstream Interstate on a 2015 Mercedes sprinter chassis. It is, essentially, the same van as this. You can pick one up for around $80-$120k but you will not have ALL the bells and whistles of this rig but you'll still have a darn nice rig. If you go brand new, the Airstream is darn expensive but the Ion is even more expensive. NOT saying it's not worth it, jsut letting people know

When comparing models, you have to make sure you are comparing apples to apples though, the Strada-ion 2WD vs the Airstream Interstate GL or GT. The prices are VERY similar and what you get extra with the Strada-ion, especially in the battery power far exceeds that of the Interstate. However, you have to stay within your budget of course, which is why these companies make different models/price ranges. Buying used like you did is a great way to save some cash.

The ion is totally and completely loaded and extremely high-quality.Just go a few years old and you can get a beautiful low mileage class B van so people can at least taste the kind of life you guys are living.

Love the light countertop, looks much better than the black top. The cab shelf is a great addition, too. Was there always a pull down shade on the sliding door or is that newer? It looked like you had a shade pulled partway down by the kitchen sink.

The over head storage is a no brainer and much needed. Now they need to find a way to access the upper back cabinet, the deep one, from outside.

They brought it to us. Didn’t feel it needed to be shared I guess. Agree about the cabinet, however, from outside, it would be very difficult to access the top part because you are standing much lower being outside and no way to really access the back from the inside, so the cabinet would be very high accessing from outside.

We did not have TPMS in the previous van, I was hoping that we did but we did not. It’s just one of those things we forgot to mention in this van along with a few other things that we’ll touch on later. Happens when we are rushing. 😂

We like Harvest Hosts and also are very pleased with our Thousand Trails membership that we purchased from Campground Membership Outlet, along with the Trails Collection, but only if you will be traveling a lot. We did away with Good Sam’s, Passport America and RPI. Just didn’t find much use in those last three.

That is an adapter taking our plug from 30 amp to a 50 amp outlet because the Campground pedestal that we were at did not have 30 amp on that pedestal, it only had 50 amp.

Well, put it this way, the upper part is one whole piece, so it is all the way across. If you put the two ottomans in, it is close to the size of a King is what we were told. @bevn362 you can make it anywhere from 20” with the back cushion in place up to all the way across, depending on where you want it… because it is power operated and you can move it to any width you want. It’s not set to only one width or full width. We had to measure because this was the first time anyone had ever asked us that. Sorry. 😂

It seems to really be a preference thing. They do this only on the AWD models, not all Strada-ions. We felt the same as you when we first seen it. We think if they at least were a shiny black, it may help. It kinda classes it down from the shiny wheels.

@LivinRVision I love the black wheels. I had a 22 170 non extended 4x4, not a Grech, and I hated the wheels on it. I wanted a Grech 2wd until I saw this AWD. I've watched videos of other brands and there's lots of problems but I never see anything bad about a Grech.

Actually, it’s been about the same or slightly less so far. It will take some time to be sure once we start driving more interstate drives. Of course at the time I write this, we are at about three weeks past when this video was filmed, so we have a bit more insight since then.

It’s a preference thing. Many people love it on the AWD models. You can always request it without.
