One thing you will notice about Namibia 🇳🇦, Botswana 🇧🇼 Zambia 🇿🇲 are full of South African shops. Therefore from South African point of view, Shopping won’t be much different and won’t give you experience but culture will.

This is what Africa needs. Let’s know our own continent through tourism and all ideas will work towards developing our continent. We don’t have this culture of travelling and that’s where knowledge expansion is. Am a Malawian by the way and I really do love your analysis of our east and Southern Africa

People in Southern Africa have certain predominant or common physical features - one of them is that we tend to be relatively shorter in stature; lighter in shade/complexion and coarse and short/brittle hair texture. Now - look very closely at the so called "bushman", the so called hunter-gatherers" (terms that I hate but using it here to help jog your memory) - we call them the Khoi and the San. They havr these features. It is from them that we inherited that light dkin you observed. The vast majority of us come from them.

Thanks so much for this. I remember learning about the San and Khoi people in history class in Kenya and how they were indigenous to much of Southern Africa. I also remember something about the apartheid government trying to classify them as not black for revisionist purposes so as to claim there were no black people in the country when the first Dutch settlers arrived. Fascinating country.

Regarding rivers and water usage. Most large rivers are dammed and regulated. The Orange River is in full flood in late Spring and throughout the summer with good reliable rains in the highveld.

The grace that you both have, is amazing! You are personable, familiar, warm, so humble - authentically African in that sense (westerners sometimes mistaken it for being shy, bashful, reserved or aloof but its far from it; I recognise that sense of humility). Youve done well to bring us closer and create goodwill and friendship. Looking forward to hosting you in November. Do reach out and let us link you to local content creators that can make the visit more meaningful and give you context of things and perhaps give you a more homely experience - so you can also experience it with locals. We are incredibly warm and inviting and would love to share that with you.

Thank you so much @our10picks18. I haven't bought meat from KMC, and so I can't adequately compare. Thank you for the pointer. I will look to buy from KMC soon. I can, however, say that Botswana's street steak was of a higher quality than those I have eaten in most top rated restaurants here.

Concerning long ATM queues in SA, we don't have mobile money and a good number of us use public transport which does not accept card payments. That forces us to carry cash. The middle class and the rich generally do not need cash

Hi Beautiful ladies, good analysis from experience. I suggest if u come back to SA to come via Zimbabwe beitbridge border gate so u can experience my limpopo province, u won't regret it. It's rural province with beautiful land scape. If u want to see traditional huts. Baobab trees. Wildlife in kruger national park,of course we do have cities and towns like polokwane, Tzaneen, Louis trichardt etc, high ways and casinos.

True yazi, that's my view. Politicians are so used to filling their pockets they are always looking for areas where they can put their hands. I noticed now they are starting to groom us with water, saying there is a shortage. It was funny when they said that in GP after consistent rainfalls. In Limpopo they taps are literally dry, politicians are cashing in thru installation of water tanks.
