I was born and raised in Bukoba, just 20km out of the town. Thank you for visiting and showing the world our Municipality. You can’t leave Bukoba without tasting the delicious grasshoppers(Senene) and traditional dishes of Banana(Matoke) and meat or fish. Just for clarification Cardinal Rugambwa the first black cardinal in TZA was born in Bukoba, buried in the cathedral yall visited. Bukoba people and Nyankole people of Uganda share similar cultures and languages are almost the same. Bukoba people are called Nshomile(Elites/Educated ) and they like to brag about it, just like Luos😂 Karibuni tena Bukoba

The first African cardinal you were talking about is called Laurean Rugambwa. He hails from that region.Kagera region borders Uganda and Rwanda. The people living along the border with Rwanda are very similar to Rwandese in customs and known as Hangaza and Nyambo and they hail from Ngala and Karagwe districts in the same region of Kagera.

Those people who say you eat to much forget that Kenya has no variety of foods unlike the rest of the Lake Victoria circuit. Wama you eat, tomorrow will worry about itself. People are jealous of your abundant and plentiful meal choices. Enjoy your days before returning to the regular ugali and sukuma wiki mboga!! Very good adventures, scenery and food. Banaye!! Lake Victoria is the largest lake in Africa and probably the world (if you use the correct Earth model).

Tanzania,Rwanda and Burundi were all one colony called Germany East Africa till the end of the WW1 when Germany lost the war.The winners of the war, among them Belgium under their leader King Leopold portioned parts of the vast colony to himself as personal property of Rwanda and Burundi in doing so they devided those people around that area of Kagera bordering Rwanda and Kigoma bordering Burundi who historically were under the same empire called Hima empire which also included some parts of Uganda such as Ankole. Therefore historically these people share alot in common including their staple food which is plantain, ankole cattle, customs and even language to some parts e.t.c

BTW the indigenous tribe of that Bukoba district is the Haya.Because the missionaries built first schools e.t.c in Tanzania they're well educated and they form the largest community of technocrats in the country together with another tribe called the Nyakusa in the southern Highlands of Tanzania in the region called Mbeya bordering Malawi and Zambia. These two tribes are known for their bragging here in TZ.I hope u'll get lo learn about the Nyakyusa on ur Road trip to South Africa because u'll pass through their region of Mbeya😂
