I think it's interesting that Countess Sanziani is based on Marchesa Luisa Casati; because the character of Lisle von Rhoman is based on her as well in the movie "Death becomes her" (1992, directed by Robert Zemeckis), and she was played by Isabella Rosselini, the daughter of Ingrid Bergman... (wo also appears in this movie...)
