One I'd add to this is when she find's John's writing and says to her son 'Looks like mummy isn't the only gay in the village'. She really takes John down in that scene, classic Caroline moment! Love it!

Tony Gardner was such perfect casting. Never saw him in anything prior to LTIH but he was John! John was a total mess of a man but Tony made him such a lovable character! He's one of the few reasons to watch Gillian.

It's so cool that they played Ne-Yo. He sang with Kimberley Walsh of Girls Aloud who auditioned to played Maria on Coronation Street. Her Two Former Music Partners Sarah Harding & Cheryl Ann Tweedy both were on the Show and Sarah Lancashire played Barmaid Raquel. He also guest starred on All My Children (1970-2012), a popular US Soap Opera.

Brillian for sure...magnificent!! One of my picks would be when Caroline is throwing things down the stairs at John. She's yelling to the boys that he's having it on with someone else. The amazing thing is she has a pretty darn strong and accurate arm. Even when she's falling backwards, she hits one of the picture frames at the bottom of the stairs. I was curious because I remembered Sarah Lancashire playing Raquel on Coronation Street back in the day. I saw her performance from a DVD Collection called Coronation Street Secrets. I didn't want to watch this series. I didn't think I would like it. I saw it promoted and avoided it until episode 5. All it took was that one episode and I had to watch the whole thing! Marvelous! Now my only "regret" is that the American version is so badly edited. Snippets from the UK are on KZbin and I see there are important pieces cut out of the US version.

It has occurred to me that the writers for Last Tango in Halifax really want a show that features a lesbian relationship and thought that the best way to do this was to promote the show as something else to draw people in: a love affair between two elderly people. Even if they intended to feature the relationship between Celia and Kenneth, the relationship between Kate and Caroline has become the most compelling. Sarah and Nina are amazing together.
