I made this bra today and didn't have strap elastic long enough....so I made it strapless 👌 I have never had a patter fit me right out of the gate. This one surprised me ❤

I love your all your videos. They are so informative. I began sewing bras when there was no information online, and I am really appreciating the content that is available now. I like to see different ways to approach bra sewing and pick up new hints and tips all the time. You are so busy with providing new videos, but if you ever all looking for another project, I would love to see some tips on saving money while bra making and how to make your own channeling - there are no tutorials online for that. I would be interested to see how you would do it. Keep up the good work -you are the best bra making resource out there😊.

Looks like I 'snuck' my order in with Bra Builders before they took some time off for the The Great Bra Sewing Bee registration. Phew!!! I ordered through them after finding the other sites were out of stock for the wire size I would need. Sue is truly a pleasure to work with and when she knew I was 'new' to bra making took extra care to make sure I was getting the right supplies. Thanks to your prior videos on fabrics/elastics, etc., it truly made the process of placing an order so much easier. 💕

I guess I was a day too late I just went there today and the site is down. Guess I'll have to be patient lol

@@Lady.Luck. Oh, what a bummer! Check back in a few days ... I'm sure you can catch-up quickly. I was very happy with the ordering process at Bra Builders. I ordered the bra kit and also an extra kit cut of fabric (need for the size I'm making to get a 2nd bra). Happily, Sue offered to send both of the cuts of fabric as one piece ... no doubt I can maximize the fabric that way. Really looking forward Liz's sew along and it is perfect timing with The Great Bra Sewing Bee next month!!

Thanks for all your help on the Maya patterns. Very helpful. I want to purchase a walking foot for better bra construction. Any chance that you know which walking foot(s) are compatible with Singer 2200 series? Please and thank you

Thanks Liz! I ordered one of these kits from bra builders to use on another bra and I really like the kit! You are so correct, it is a great item for beginners Who don’t quite know all of the pieces for Bra making! I also downloaded this Maya pattern and I have to say I’m going to just watch your tutorials! My first muslin was a huge fail! 😢😢 And it was basically the cups fitting into the cradle, something went terribly wrong! I’m sure I’ll find out what I did by watching your final tutorials! Thank you so much for sharing this very valuable information! 🤗🤗

I had a similar thing happen ... I mistakenly sewed one of the cups inside out and when I tried to align the marks of the cup to the cradle everything was waaaaay off but when I flipped it the cup fit perfectly.

I have to ask... Why did you say the grainlines on the pattern pieces indicate degree of greatest stretch? Grainlines generally regard the straight grain, which runs along the selvage and is generally not stretchy, or is almost always less stretchy than the cross grain.
@LizSews2 жыл бұрын
This is unique to bra making. The “grainline” symbol in bra patterns indicate DOGS or direction of greatest stretch not the actual grainline of the pattern. It is opposite to most sewing which is why I mentioned it

Hey Liz, what do I do if my cradle piece is to large to fit the folded-in-half fabric? Add a 1/4 inch seam allowance and cut two? Thanks for any help!
@LizSews3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can add a seam down the center front for 2 pieces, or my preference would be to split it in 3, I’d split it at the notch mark at the mid cradle so you’d have your bridge and then two side cradles that are mirror image. Just remember to add seam allowances where you split it

Please, what type of fabric duoplex is? I will be making it from Brazil and I can't find this fabric. It's like satin? 96%polyesrter and 4% stretch? What composition should I look for?

I'd recommend watching my video on Stable Knits to learn more about Duoplex: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmPZindmfs9_jaM its a heavy weight Tricot that's 100% polyester
