Still miss your weekly vlogs. They were so great and authentic and showed how fantastic you are, in ways that those professional videos just don’t. You are great and wonderful on those too, obviously, but it’s the difference between learning from you and hanging out with you. And I miss hanging out with you, if that makes sense.

Recently had open heart surgery and was told that I wouldn't be able to lift my usual Sony gear. Picked up a Fujifilm X-T5 and have been loving it so far! Have also picked up a roller bag for the same reason - a Lowepro Pro Trekker RLX 450 AW II (My usual bag is a Compagnon Element Backpack 30L).
@TechWandererYT9 ай бұрын
Ohhh that sounds terrible (and fun, wrt to the Fujifilm 😂). I hope you're doing okay! I just picked up the X-S20 just because I wanted a smaller package, and while I love it, the auto focus is sooo much worse. Still using and loving it though!

Oh my glad you're ok! I'll look into the bag. Mine just bit the dust.

Nice video! As an owner of a few A7Siii's, I was interested in the FX3 too. Instead, I went with the FX30 with the audio handle and use handle on my A7Siii. Small Rig has a cage and plate that secures the handle on the A7Siii. It's an option and personally, I am very pleased with it.

Hmmmm the ECM-M1, and majority of the Sony shotgun mics have shock mount sound issues. They get looser over time causing any movement to hit the side panels of the shock mount. (Kara and Nate figured out that if you use the Sony ECM-GZM1 you mostly avoid all those issues) I’m testing that mic now too. An auto only mic is apparently more valuable than a mic that just makes endless useless knocking sound audio. Pierre lambert apparently puts a rubber band where the shock mount is to lessen the knocking sounds when recording.
@TechWandererYT9 ай бұрын
FWIW, and to give another side of the story, I've had the ECM-B1M and 2 years. And while I heard some people complain about these in the past, I never had any issues with it. Absolute work horse, with zero sound or or mount issues. Probably subject to what you shoot with it and how it is handled.
@VenusandMaiku9 ай бұрын
@@TechWandererYT it’s widespread and a well known problem. I just tested a brand new ECM-g1 today and you can hear the knocking sounds if you walk, talk vlogging to camera. I guess if you just stay stationary everytime you want to talk to camera. That’s how you prevent knocking sounds.
@TechWandererYT9 ай бұрын
I do not always stay stationary, but I'm also not running marathons. Use case dependent I guess.

Love the lighting in this video, and the ball head on the tripod is enough to jave me looking for the link. a7c has kinda been on the radar for me since you first posted about it a while ago, I shoot an old a7 and an adapted lens mule but it really isn't a great or at least inspiring camera for video, and the a7s3 is a bit out of reach given it's not the business I am in, so it would be more of a selfish toy. I like the idea of letting stuff go, I have a Tone of film cameras that I have loved for a very long time but I feel like the time is ripe to let them find new life in other people's journey. I enjoy these transition videos when people upgrade or change their gear, it's not so much about the new gear or the purging of old , as it is the exciting promise of new beginnings and the sence of motivation I know I get when I feel more organized and less cluttered, and most deffinitly inspired to use new tools. Well sometimes old tools too, when they are new to me.
