His book is definitely worth it. It’s exactly what he teaches in videos but in words. Great stuff!

I wish you would open up to the idea of having people come down to work with you. I would love to come down a train/ pick your brain. Have you train me on how to be a better trainer. In the retriever world there really isn't much out there like you. You have the totally positive people and the force/ pressure people, that have to throw marks to keep their Labradors attitudes up while teaching the blind retrieve/ casting portion.

I love your videos, please show us how to stop herding with an e-collar.

Hey, I asked this on the video with Sophia acting as the dog. She did fantastic and was very entertaining btw. I thought it might be smart to ask this on a more recent video. Do you have a video that breaks down the basics for those that are just learning to train their dogs at home? We just got an American Staffy mix. She has minor training from her previous owners. We got her from the Humane Society. Her previous owners were military and got sent overseas and could not take her. She’s a good dog that needs some training. We want to do it the right way and not cause conflict.

Can't tell if my dog feels the collar until I hit 20 (mini educator), at which point she over reacts. So I dropped back down to 8. At 6 I can't see anything no ear, eye, or head turns. Going with 8 on the assumption she feels it.

What if u press and hold e collar and give dog command to sit and he doesn’t? E collar is currently on dogs working level in home with no distractions. Dog knows sit very well and always sits when e colllar is not used. Dog has been conditioned to e collar

I have a question, what do you recommend for a dog, a collar or harness?
@1anjani23 жыл бұрын
I recommend both. Harness gives control. When your dog is pulling, jumping on other dogs/people you can easily handle with a harness.

Yah another video. I thought about getting that ecollar for my poodle. He is so so smart. But id love to train him off leash. I like the ecollar. But that changed my mind about off leash. When I went to the park and someone had their dog there and there's was off leash. Came charging at mine. Mine is 1 1/2 years old. I thought the big dog was wanting to play. Till the owner screamed he is aggressive. So I grabbed my dog by his harness in the nick of time. Why bring your aggressive dog to a park. Said he tries to kill small dogs.
@davidshaw14175 жыл бұрын
One thing taking them to a park but it's another having him off leash. It's the owners responsibility to control their dog but the dog and whoever he attacks will pay the horrible price for his negligence. Glad he didn't get to your dog in time.
@amywright11335 жыл бұрын
David Shaw yea. I agree. I wouldn’t take mine off leash especially since that incident. I have a huge fenced in back yard. With all the off leash he needs. It’s prob not worth the worry of another dog getting to him. Since all he wants to do is play.

Perhaps I missed it and I know he’s using the e collar on a very low setting but does anyone know if he’s using a low setting shock or a low setting vibrate? Thanks for the video, Larry!
@HailLuzifer5 жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly he said he doesn't use the vibration only the stimulation
@jannekoskinen20505 жыл бұрын
Stimulation would be more accurate term. In low levels it's not a shock but gentle tingling sensation. Not uncomfortable as you can see from dogs Larry is training.
@miguelgalicia91805 жыл бұрын
Gotcha, well, I’m hoping to learn some more when I get his book in the mail tomorrow. Aside from binging a ton of his videos. Would you guys say a vibration setting would still be fine? I’ve been working on the ‘Conditioning’ stage with my husky and it appears he responds better to the vibration than he does to the “shock” feature on the e collar. And yes it’s fitted correctly, snug below the jaw line and to the side. He’s showing remarkable results thus far.
@leahw11905 жыл бұрын
@@miguelgalicia9180 If it's working well for your dog then I would say continue what you're doing. It's possible that you have the stimulating on too high of a setting and that's why he's not responding as well.
