Llama fur is way less soft than I thought it would be! My dad visited a llama farm in California and they sell felted soap, so he got me one and it's very coarse. Also, when I was really young, I went on a school field trip to a zoo and my friend was super obsessed with llamas, so we went to them first. She was so excited and the llama spit in her eye! It was the funniest but saddest thing because she was in pain but she forgave the llama haha

Cool! I am getting llamas in November! His name is El Mustacho! He has a mustache! I love your channel! I did a llama show this week, it was amazing! I felt lots of things out of llama fiber! I am in a 4-H club and I was asked a lot if llamas spit! I told them basicly the same thing that you said! Anyway, you are so amazing!

I'm so glad you made this video. I have alpacas and it's so annoying that so many people still call them llamas.Only a few things. First of all, I'm doing some camelids research and I found out there are four llama breeds, the classic (ccara), medium, wooly and suri llama (like the suri alpaca). The wooly and suri seem to have a lot of fiber/wool too. But even though, everybody said an alpaca is still way softer and has better quality fiber. I don't know what kind of llama you have and I don't know if everything I type is right, but maybe you can tell me?And something about alpacas, they are used as guardians as well and can kill dogs/foxes too. It's more likely to use a llama, since they're bigger and more confident, I agree, but alpacas can be used as guardians too.I didn't mean to offend you, I just thought I'd tell/ask you. :3Besides that, great video and your llama and alpacas look really cute!
@HappyTailsAnimals7 жыл бұрын
+Veerle Van Merwijk some llamas have very good fiber, but typically alpacas are going to have better. No absolutely not, an alpaca should not be used as a guardian. Yes there is idiotic information out there of people saying that alpacas make great guardians, but try joining a Facebook group for alpacas, and there you will see the results of such an attempt. Many alpacas die because of this horrible advice. Yeah, an alpaca with an attitude might be able to run off something like a cat and it's funny more than anything else, but alpaca vs a dog (one that is a real threat and not a chihuahua) the alpaca will get killed or seriously injured.
@fireguy7004 Жыл бұрын
@@HappyTailsAnimals No you're wrong. Alapcas are good guardians. They are very aggressive towards intruders. While there are Alpacas that have been killed, there are llamas that have been killed also. I lost an alpaca to my neighbors 2 Anatolians and their pyrenees. You could tell from the amount of wool torn out that he put up a hell of a fight. A llama would have also been killed. If alpacas were so weak, I would have lost one over that last 20 years I have had them. We have lots of coyotes and yes cougars. It took 3 big dogs to kill one. We have not lost a chicken either to any critter. I have an orphan deer her that lost its mother somehow. He has survived quite well because he hangs out here around the alpacas.

Are they social animals, such as equines? If you buy one (of either variety) do you need to have a companion to him/her? How many infants do the females create at birth? Only one, two? Good video. I always wondered if they both were related to camels, since their lips and nose have the "camel" face. Are these expensive animals to purchase?
