Fascinating coverage of the aftermath of a regrettable incident Bob. Fortunately no one was injured. Cheers, Dave.

Who's a happy little bunny now then Bob Lol. Very interesting movements with plenty of toing & froing and nicely captured. 074's livery is quite smart but those three seperate logo's remind me of when we used to put holiday stickers on our cars. Lol. Best Wishes, Brian.

great one there Bob, wounder what could've caused the derailment? was it a points failure or was it just too much weight on the track?

Brilliant video Bob. You have captured the Class 60 at last. Well done. Great days filming. Shame you didn’t get the chance to see the crane moving. It is getting quite difficult to film at the junction with the foliage. We enjoyed your company. It’ was great to see you. Best wishes C&A

Interesting video, and nice to see the drivers acknowledge you. I've seen some that look at you like you've crawled out from under a rock. The interim RAIB report that's been on the net is interesting. The brakes on one wagon applied but did not release mid journey. One axle was locked and stopped rotating causing a large wheel flats and a false flange on the outer edge of the wheels. The report says the wheels were rotating when it left the refinery. When it came to a set of points the false flanges distorted the track which led to the derailment, and possibly (now I'm speculating) the heat led to the ignition of the leaking fuel oil. There had to be some source of ignition, and being diesel and gas oil, it would need more than just a spark to ignite it. It was luck it happened where it did. Imagine the destruction if that had happened passing through Newport or Cardiff stations?

I saw this interim report Neil, what concerns me is that these trains pass the bottom of my garden on a daily basis.

Top quality railway video. May I ask what camera and lens you use to get such high quality on KZbin?
@robmasterman4 жыл бұрын
Thank you John, I use a Panasonic X920 video camera, and stills are taken from the actual video footage. It's a Zeiss lens, and a superb piece of kit.

Hi Bob! I'm still alive and kicking with no Covid probs! However there's something wrong with my KZbin account as I'm not getting notifications from you or any others? I'm still subscribed to "all". Any ideas? This is a great capture Bob and I watched the movement of the damaged tanks video too. Still the same high standard! Hope you and Mrs M are keeping well, best wishes! Ken

Hello Ken, good to hear from you again, and that you're keeping well in these difficult times. I know of a few people not being advised of my uploads, unfortunately, they are few and far between these days. It may be be worth re-subscribing to see if that solves the issues...Regards...Bob
