Leo, Lex, there is a place where your accomplishments would really be noticed and appreciated. If you lived here, in my adopted home country of Japan, and did the things you’ve done, you’d already be national celebrities. Japan loves running, especially team competitions and relay races. The “Hakone Ekiden”, a long-distance college team relay, is one of the biggest sports events of the year here. And lots of other relays and marathons are shown on national network TV. You guys should definitely come here and run! The best time might be December, after cross country season. You could get a Japanese TV network to sponsor your trip and film a New Year special show featuring Newbury Park competing against top Japanese high school runners. There are lots of similar shows with sports celebrities on during the holidays. They’re very popular and foreign stars are often brought in to take part. With your dedication to running, meticulous preparation for races, positive attitude, good looks and California-dream lifestyle, Japan would LOVE you guys. You could probably make the rounds of the Good Morning America-type “wide shows” and increase your fanbase by orders of magnitude in a week. It would be a great adventure, and I have no doubt it could happen if you got the right people working on it.

Just watched your record running video, what impressed me the most was not the running, it was how you just laughed at the “bagel misunderstanding”, sadly enough most folks would have been bent out of shape over a simple misunderstanding, while you just accepted it and laughed. Young man, if you are able to handle life’s challenges in the same manor (which I believe you will), you are going to get so much more enjoyment out of life then most will! It is obvious you have been blessed with fantastic parents (you can tell by your actions and mannerisms).

For sure. I have absolutely no doubt that they can go sub 16 minutes. Really wish they were able to race against the college guys rather than the professionals. In my opinion these guys are good enough to compete for the win with the college guys
@RavishingSailor2 жыл бұрын
@@nelz2012 it completely is but they are so close. They killed the national record basically running alone since the first lap. I can only imagine how much faster they can run outdoors with faster competition that could push them towards a faster pace such as the college guys. The pros are gonna be to fast for them. Nonetheless you are absolutely right that sub 16 is extremely hard but I’m rooting for these 4 guys.

Lex and Leo, I'm in middle school running xc and track. Do you have any pointers or tips for me to reach the next level?
@eamon30222 жыл бұрын
From personal experience going into my senior year. It's all about consitancy running every day, I have dropped so much time just running everyday even when I'm not doing workouts.Also take your easy days easy you need that time to recover for a harder workout later on.
@jakebennett77722 жыл бұрын
hey bruv, i know i'm not as good as lex or leo, but i run in college so i'll give my best advice to someone your age. just stay consistent in everything you do and find out what works for you. sleep, hydration, and diet are super important to make sure your body is properly recovered and functioning. do your stretching, lift once or twice a week, and take care of your body for injury prevention. and obviously you need to run in the offseason. if you dont you will lose so much fitness, if you run in the off-season you begin to stack training blocks and will almost always improve season to season until you reach your max potential. you have so much time to become a great athlete, so i wish you luck kid. always remember to believe you can do anything
@jacobfaughtrunningproducti9742 жыл бұрын
Im a sophomore and have dropped from 21:52 down to 18:23 since my first meet of freshman year and I can say, running 5-6 times a week (2-3 easy runs of 5-7 miles, 2 track workouts with total of 4-6 miles, and a long run of 10 plus miles a week) has really dropped down my times A LOT. Since you're only in middle school, I would say stay on the lower end of the mileage though, only around 25-30 a week so you don't tear down your body, once you get in high school you'll want around 35, maybe 40, and possibly up to 60 by senior year
