Not if you know who you play against :) It's crazy tho that such a loose player and sometimes looking like a fish, is one of the most succesful players.. But is he really "GTO"? His play seems to be more of a combination of that & exploitative.

great video, i'm new to poker and especially new to gto. i wondered if anyone could explain to me closer how its possible to differentiate a gto and a exploitative approach. why wouldn't game theory optimal account for exploitative plays of opponents and weave in own exploitative plays? to me as a newbie it sound as if gto isnt quite optimal then?
@TimeHandler11 ай бұрын
Stefans approach is similar to what i've been trying to use since i started out in this game. Forcing my opponents out of their comfort zone, even if i have to make a small mistake to do it. I'd say i'm not using it anywhere near as accurately as he is though. I'm mainly trying to level the playing field vs stronger regs, and put us in a situation where it's more likely that we will *both* make mistakes, rather than just me, allowing me to receive less of a hit from them, and reap some of the benefits of being around the other weaker players at the table. Which works well too, if you're playing lower stakes, but high enough that there are quite a few regs that keep crushing you. Stefan is demolishing people by taking it to the next level, as he actually knows how a solver is likely to play the rare spots he keeps creating, leading him to actually have a win-rate vs the best players in the world... Very inspiring... He's like the poker player i've been trying to be the whole time.

When these guys are this good whats the point in playing each other? Surely they both lose to the rake over time? Is it ego? Or maybe its the desire to be the best
