that layering of Hammond into the harmonica notes is really singular. don't think I've ever heard it anywhere else.

There is a black and white version of this song. It's basically a prostitute and pimp story. The editing is fantastic. It was probably a NYU film student.

The video for Skinny Puppy’s “Who’s Laughing Now” also heavily features scenes from the movie. If u don’t know, it’s the weird industrial song when they’re in the underground club.

@leavingitblank93637 ай бұрын
@@devotedrecords8038 I wonder how much that had to do with the two stars being part of the Brat Pack. Andrew McCarthy has put out a documentary about the Brat Pack and what it meant being part of it. They were sort of vilified at their peak. No one wanted to like anything they did. (Then again, the director thought the movie was unfairly impacted because "it coincided with that ridiculous Rob Lowe videotape scandal".)

@@kornofulgur It was very good, but honestly I was crushed that he didn't sing "Lost Weekend" or "My Bag", which he'd always sang in concerts before and are big favourites of mine... You can't be much more ignored than Lloyd Cole. After the Commotion, his first two solo records were stunning and probably more records were but I didn't keep up. "They're robbing your boots when they give you a shoe shine" . Baby, music fans are not too well read, not too pristine, and they're looking for something cheesy and schlocky when there's something better to be found. Lloyd, Neil Young, Dylan, The Replacements, The Smiths, Paul Westerberg with the Replacements, Van Morrison are where it's found.
@toml70163 жыл бұрын
Fully agree. The first two solo albums were really good. "The Negatives" was also good, but admittedly I didn't keep up either. Now may be a good time to catch up.

@@Dasboot1992 It's a Neo Noir. They usually end bittersweet or as a tragedy. It seems the James Spader protagonist is probably going to go back to living as a square if the cops believe him and his brother's story. Instead of being damaged or a completely different person by the end credits.
