Unfortunately, sir, you only get a five year warranty with the Tucson over here...

I have owned a 2018 Tucson Se nav for over 5 years and the only issue for me is the under-powered engine. It's fine for tootling around but joining motorways or overtaking is a different matter - it lacks torque. That said, I'm getting around 37mpg for mostly town driving which is petty good. Having some back issues, the Tucson is a comfortable car and access is great. I upgraded the interior lighting to LED and it is much better. No squeaks or rattles and generally a solid build. Only one fault sorted under warranty, a CO2 sensor had to be replaced. The clutch occasionally judders when cold, and I had the gearbox oil changed at year 6 service. Servicing is between £230 (oil change) to £430 for major service.

Yes, I am sure that other non-turbo 1.6 Tucsons I have driven seemed a bit slower than this, but I did drive it at speeds of up to 60 mph, and it wasn't quite as bad as it could have been. I suppose you could always go for the turbo version, if that was a big problem. 37 mpg isn't bad at all. As you say, they tend to be very dependable, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one of these for a client. Thank you very much indeed for watching and commenting!
