Always have time for a Mark 7 Fiesta, this is a rather lovely example of a Fiesta and Phil has cherished it. It was said by Auto Express that it was about the same size of the Mark 1 Focus and could make a sensible family car. Happy New Year Sir!

Love this car, had it since Aug 2016 and it’s still in my fleet (had 16 other cars come and go since then). I was very pleasantly surprised on its performance on UpnDown’s dyno too. Thank you for doing this great review

Yes, it's not necessarily the specification of Fiesta that I would choose, but it is very good nevertheless. Ride and handing are very strong in one of these. Thank you again for watching, sir!

Sounds very rorty! It was a pleasant surprise to see that you didn't have to contort yourself to get in the back in the same manner as you did with the Lexus. Do the complimentary Polos come as standard, sir? God bless the Fiesta. We miss her.

Sir, the rear of a three door Fiesta is not nearly as difficult to access as it looks. Very nice car to drive, although a little bit firm for my preference, so a nice Titanium Individual would be just fine for me.

Nice review. So cam belt, thermostat housing and core plugs? I didn't catch the last potential issue. If coolant not changed.

The core plugs can rot out if the coolant is not changed. The drop links can be an issue, and some of the very early ones are starting to rust now, but generally they tend to be quite dependable.

I do apologise, I thought you were referring to one of the post-facelift cars. The Metal had 132 bhp as opposed to 118 bhp.

That car does not look its age ! Sounds a lot better than an eco-boom with standard tailpipe. I’ve only driven the later incarnations with the eco-boom engines. Very similar in many ways. But I would want the higher power 1.25 or the 1.4 with standard suspension. In the later cars, it’s very respectable over bad road surfaces. I think I’m correct in saying only the eco-boom made it into the later cars which is a shame. Yes there was another type of engine but tbh, doesn’t really suit these cars. The later eco-boom engine in our friends later car sticks around 44-45 mpg average (6 speed manual)….and that isn’t a fast driver. IMO that isn’t that good. I bet the older 1.25 engines are not below that. ….theres a sorts divide between cars like the fiesta and things like Honda or Toyota. Sort of to do with differences in rolling resistance. Basically in the modern Japanese cars, there’s not much of it…might explain higher mpg? So in fiesta you go or stop. In the Japanese cars, once upto speed you can maintain momentum with less power going into the system.

The 1.4 in something like Titanium X trim is about as good as it gets for someone like me, sir. The Ecobooms aren't particularly worth getting if you can just buy a 1.25 or 1.4 Zetec-SE version.
