I have the same problem on mine RS MK1. Look very good on the back side of the print plate. There are some few black strikes on the copper parts on the green plate. Clean these up whit a towel and contact spray. Only contact spray is not working. Better do this with a towel and contact spray. Than the problem is solved. ( i have a picture, but don't now how to load it up.

Could be broken or cracked solder joints? Common on the c max instrument binnacle.

Solder joints looked ok once I cleaned them and things seem to of settled back down again plus car outside in garden drying off 😂
