This is revolutionary. We need this type of equipment not only for teaching but to prepare residents to perform the technique with confidence. You never know fully until you have done it yourself. Would be great to have one at our institute.

Should davos be the go-to technique according to the literature describing it?
@mn-medical4 жыл бұрын
based on? if you can try 10 different techniques on same patient and find a way to measure which one is better? it is impossible.
@lmellick4 жыл бұрын
Probably not. It has about a 70% success rate. It is a good one for the recurrent dislocators who want to self treat at home.

No Kocher's?

You are correct, we overlooked that one.

From someone who has dislocated their shoulder 21 times (anterior). And have had surgery on it after the 7th dislocation that failed. Watching some of these techniques makes me cringe. The Kocher’s is by far the least painful. I’ve had just about everything tried on me. I can’t help but wonder, why do these other techniques that can further damage the labrum and usually require sedation are often the go to of a ER physician, when a light dose of versed and a more calm approach such as the Kocher’s method would be much more beneficial. No need to put them to sleep when you can use a light dose of versed and a good technique. External rotation is the most painful along with any movement outstretched in front of the body. Just some thought from someone who has dealt with this for 10 years, been to multiple ERs, put to sleep numerous times, every technique imaginable tried and dealt with surgery and PT. I feel like we really have to be mindful of the labrum (especially on a patient who has a first time dislocation) to minimize damage and likeliness of a redislocation.

it's too bad i'm too poor to afford a doctor but thank you this helps. i've been trying to put my own shoulder back into place for about 5 years now. hurts like hell on a daily. i only wish i could clone myself so i had someone to help me pop it back into place. if only i were a rich man i could pay the doctor all the precious monies he requires. last doctor i tried getting help from wouldn't even send me for the x ray.

Lay down on your stomach and put weight on the injured part ( on the hand) . That should reduce it, please try to seek medical attention at least for a reduction.
