CHEMICALLY BLACKING OUT MY TAIL LIGHTS!!!

In todays video we black out my stock Halogen tail lights and 3rd brake light using a pretty cool technique that I found out about!

For anyone considering doing this process. It worked great on my 2017 f150. I did this exact process including distilled water, let dry in front of a fan overnight, and they turned out fantastic. 2 gallons of degreaser and 2 gallons of distilled water was more than enough to do all 3 lights.

Looks great! Purple power and super clean will do this as well for anyone curious. Keep in mind this may not work on every tail light/headlight depending on the manufacturer.

I think it looks great!! I've never heard of such lol. I definitely think this is a viable option. Loving the way the truck is looking. I think I would remove the FX4 emblem if it were mine. Once the blue ovals are addressed this thing will be perfect IMO.

I like it a lot because it's a really good look and technically it's still legal. It still has the red reflectors and the factory color lights so there's really nothing you could get a ticket for. If you're really concerned about the brightness of the lights just switch them over to LED bulbs.

Looks great! I would probably paint the bulb sockets too. This way you don’t see the light gray from the light socket through the lenses.

Plus you can just add led bulbs to make them brighter. I have Lasfit led front signal bulbs and they're substantially brighter

Good ol' Zep Purple, accidently stripped chrome badges off a couple engine covers that way. Never thought to use it to do this though. Looks great!

I had never heard of that before, but it turned out great. I already did a thin spray on tint on mine, so I probably won't do it to mine, but they're about the same darkness, just yours kept the factory shine. Definitely try out some cheap ones for context, you already have a view from me.

Just put LED bulbs in and you don't have to worry about "the reflectiveness." I just got a 2023 F-150 STX with the very same lights and I hate the chrome! I'm going to do this!
