Great video Mike!! Missed this era of top class prototype fascinating genius 😢. I love the new Hypercar era also and the many manufacturers showing interest to compete. Without the skyrocketing costs of the former LMP1 technical regs being a big problem for most manufacturers. LMP1 amongst the other classes on the grid is what got me into endurance racing in the first place a decade ago ❤️❤️❤️.

Yes, lmp1 to hyper progression is similar to when we went from gt1 to gt3. Sure you get 17 companies making their version of the car and they are all bop-ed to a nanosecond, but they all feel very much similar and lack a lot of the soul due to all of limitations in regulations.

As cool as LMP1 was, I don't feel like the hypercars are similar at all. What does the Peugeot have to do with the Cadillac? I love the new cars and the competiton they provide.

I don’t feel GT3s are similar at all. Maybe you could make an argument for Audi R8 and Lamborghini Huracan to be similar, but the rest? No way.

@@tooeasy1100There’s a lot of variety within GT3, when I first got into GT3 racing, there was the Bentley, a couple Aston Martins, Nissan GTRs, NSXs, and ofc the usual suspects in Ferrari, Lamborghini, BMW and Mercedes. The issue for me (and do correct me if I’m wrong as I don’t keep up with GT3 racing as often as WEC/IMSA or F1 and Indy) is that seemingly everyone is defaulting to the German brands now, maybe it’s because it’s cheap or because brands like Bentley and Nissan can’t be bothered to constantly do Evo versions of their GT3 cars… idk if I’m looking at the wrong places or missing something but that’s the feel I have

@@sandalogaming6766 Bentley stopped their GT3 Program. Nissan might as well. They are only seen in Asian/Japanese series.

@@SimRacing604 I won't. But don't ask in return what game I've been testing in VR and with my motionplatform and a SRS beta today. I still return to AC to do some very enjoyable laps with a WEC 2024 grid on Imola. Btw, I achieved 100.000km on sx_lemans earlier this week. That's 7339 laps. :)

Would love to see gtrNL update the rest of SpeedStar's LMP1s. Was really excited when they first came out but a bit disappointed when the AI were broke so they couldn't even be used as grid fillers. LMP2s part of that pack are good though and pair well with URD's Oreca. LMP1s are still so much fun to throw around. I love the new Hypercar era with so many manufacturers, new and old, joining the ring, but they're very tame to drive compared to the LMP1s with how light, aerodynamic, and powerful they were. Even the non-hybrids were like driving a missile.

The hybrid LMP1s have been my favourite cars for a long time, so much so that I have a huge 919 poster still hanging in my living room. Too bad these cars always come out as mods for AC, which is a really bad environment for multi-class enduros, and never for games better equipped for such experience, like AMS2. Hopefully they'll take the time to add these monsters in LMU as well when the "historic" content drops.

@@SimRacing604 I'd rather a good single player experience, hence my mention of AMS2. I did race the 2016 919 for a long time in iracing and I never want to repeat this experience ever again.😂

I have news for you! ThunderFlash released an LMP1 mod pack with the Porsche, Audi, and Toyota for AMS2. All his mods are just conversions from Project CARS 2 of course, but they're still plenty good to drive around and work well since AMS2 is built off the same engine. He also has the LMP2s and GTEs from PC2, and now having Le Mans in the game, makes for plenty of fun.

@@SeaGLGaming oh yeah I'm aware, I've driven em for a few hours, but the lack of proper sounds and hybrid simulation puts me off. Nothing Fred can do, it's the limitations of modding ams2 for now.
