Well a sight to behold and a perfect sound to listen to. LMS Black 5 44871 was tasked on taking a rake of WCRC Mk1's from Southall in London to Norwich Goods Yard for preparation for its tour to York the following day, which I will be on board!
Running under the headcode 5Z81 Southall Wcr - Norwich Goods Yard, the loco can be seen and heard climbing the shallow graded incline through Attleborough with Class 47 47802 on rear giving it the beans as well! Black 5 44871 is known for being one of the Black 5's that head The Jacobite, a famous service that runs in the West Highlands from Fort William to Mallaig every summer on the route made famous by the Harry Potter film series.
The tour the next day is 'The York Yultide Express' running from Norwich to York with the Black 5 only running on the outward journey. This will also be my first railtour and my first being behind a magnificent Black 5 is something to remember!! I hope to get some clips of the tour tomorrow.
