Me and my band mates would undertake the pilgrimage to "Chucks" at least once a month from Southern MD (90+ minutes and beltway traffic away) back in the early 90's. Spent lots of my disposable and not-so disposable income there. Had the pleasure of taking my son there (drummer) for his first music store experience last year and was amazed that the place had changed so little. Thanks for the video!

I'm no historian but it was sometime in the late 80s, early 90s that Gibson reissued that double neck and a good friend bought one. I still remember going to his house after work for the "unboxing". Lol. It was awesome. Couldn't believe I was holding that beautiful guitar. And when he played STH, I didn't protest.

If I lived in the US, I would certainly be trying to buy that PRS!!! That guitar is stunning and I bet it plays just as good as it looks as its a PRS!!

If you pause the part where he was reading the letter it tells you the exact colour their custom shop stained it ( Makena Blue) This will help you if you decide to buy one in the future. I was also gobsmacked at the colour of the stain. Its like a blue Lagoon in India or something. Carvin do these colours also which are very beautiful. Gibson started doing them but they look trashy and desperate on a Gibson but Gibson are desperate these days and have ruined their own company. All they had to do was to make the best Les Pauls in their traditional colours but the quality was failing and they did everything wrong. Their customer care should of been the best in the world but it is now the worst. I think Gibson deserve to close down now sadly!

I would kill to have a music store like that where I live, I'm stuck with a shitty GC that never updates their stock of guitars and actually turned their vault into a school band instrument rental storage area. It sucks to not have any good guitar shops around. Thats why I taught myself how to build guitars, now I can have whatever I want, still there is something special about saving up and finding your dream guitar at a great shop like the one in this video. I keep saying I'm going to build a double neck but keep putting it off, after this video I think I'll finally start one, It'll be a mashup though, no 12 string. I'll do a fender Strat style 6 string with an Ibanez style 7 or 8, just for the hell of it.

I've been in the market for a PRS SE Custom & have noticed a lot of "demos" on Sweetwaters site with that fretboard finish issue. They all seem to come from Cor-Tek factory. I thought PRS was supposed to catch that shit at their Maryland factory. Makes me wonder if they really QC every instrument or just a few out of a shipment. Hope that move to Indonesia didn't ruin a great line of guitars.

So much dead inventory just sitting on shelves. Loose items everywhere just looking to get damaged in such tight confines. At some point they will be wishing that money was in the bank rather than in a stock room gathering dust.
@caiusmadison29965 жыл бұрын
They have a rack that has tape across the bottom that reads "on Reverb Now" which has me believe that numerous websites are being used to sell this rarer inventory. That's the way to do it. You don't hang a 20,000 dollar guitar on your store wall and hope somebody comes in for it. Never will happen. You list it on Reverb and wait a few years, then it will.
