Great video. I have a 2013 Dyna Switchback. Basically a baby Road King for it's time. Bought it in 2020 with 10k miles on it. It had the Dyna Death Wobble. I put the Sputhe front and rear stabilazers on it, Legend rear suspension, and it's good to go now, no death wobble. It is a 103 ci twin cam, with a stage one Vance and Hines 2 into 1 pipes, high fow air cleaner, and a tune. OMG, the sound is mesmerizing. My suggestion is VH 2 into 1 for pipes. I also have a 2022 Harley Heritage Classic. The new M8's just don't have the heart and feel of the older twin cams IMHO. Looking forward to how you're going to build it out.

I put FXD chrome cigar tube shocks on mine. Love the ride and the handling. Super comfortable. If you want it to scream, port and polish the factory heads and intake. It's easy to do with a dremmel and some bits. Oh, one more thing, if you change the cams I recommend Andrews 37's. The specs are nearly identical to the Woods Night Prowler for 1/3 the cost. Pulls like a freight train at any RPM. Love it. Glad you finally got you a Dyna.

Love my Dyna ! Oh and I changed out the rubber bushings where the risers meet the triple tree. Congrats on your new bike !

yeeees. I am looking forward to it. I love all those frisco style bikes you made but riding comfortably on everydays it's more practical on a club style bike. but those are usually overly complex with bags and giant fairings, so I can't wait to see your minimalist dyna.
@nathanhoughton12553 ай бұрын
some of the first things you should do when you buy a dyna doesn't matter what year is, new motor mounts if you have the money get a big bear front motor mount to stop the dyna wobble and a drag specialties rear should do the trick. next would be new neck bearings they always used to come from factory with little to no grease so that will make a big difference. then take a look at the cam chain tensioner and if its stock switch to hydraulic one/ while your in there you might as well do cams ;). I would also replace your sprocket bolts with new ones and use plenty of red locktite and proper torque spec, I have dealt with and seen those bolts come loose too many times causing damage to the wheel pulley and sometimes the swing arm.

Love the bike. Not a Harley but I have an 06 Suzuki intruder 1400 that I bought from a guy that has those same grips. I’m know they’re not your style at all but they’re surprisingly good for long hauls. Somehow the way I hold the grip, my finger rests inside the flame a certain way so I can have less grip on the throttle while still having control and it’ll just chill almost like a cruise control effect. Also can’t wait for more of the Honda build and the next camping movie.

I have 04 Wide Glide and I got tired of f suspension clunk (50k mi) so I went to Progressive Gas Mono Struts, fork brace and new neck bearings. Also, new shocks on back, mechanic said motor mounts are good. I've owned several brands over the years but this is my first Harley. I like it and never owned any bike that didn't benefit from a suspension upgrade.

100% recommend changing out the motor mounts. Motorhauss or big bear performance make the best mounts… Idk if youre going to upgrade suspension later or not… but good motor mounts will help a lot especially if you keep stock suspension.

Make sure you check the cam chain guides for wear. Maybe think about upgrading the whole cam chest with the S&S cam kit that also comes with the quickie pushrods. They also make a cam gear drive upgrade kit that gets rid of the troublesome cam chains and guides altogether. Nice Bike!

When doing the bars there is a lot of extra wire coiled up, under the rear fender there is a hole that you can access this coil from. Should be able to pull the coil of wires out so you can relieve the wire stress and then pull however much you’ll need out the neck to do your bars and access the connectors and what not.

Bought my son a Dyna Super glide about 9 months ago. It's a 2009 and I lucked out and found set of forward control foot Pans for it. Not sure if it applies to your year, but the engine mounts usually get upgraded first. I have an 02’ fxd and threw a sputhe stabilizer front and rear before anything else, I know Big Bear Motor mounts is a solid upgrade too that a lot of people do. Sputhe uses the stock motor mounts, big bear is a whole different one
